Plus -- and with all due respect -- they were like the worst sports program in the history of sports programs.

I guess I could counter with something like "five losses in six games" or "your basketball coach manages to simultaneously look like a whiney brat and the Grinch" but I know this isn't a winning battle. Besides, we're both UT fans first and foremost now, right? Right?
The most obvious counter is that my coach is a living legend, world-class comedian, and unequaled developer of talent while your coach used to literally be a child mascot of sorts for said living legend coach.

I don't think I have enough space in my heart to let another team in, really, so we'll see...

Except the hockey teams. Everything else is an embarrassment.

Agreed. Also, didn't realize you won the USNWR contest. How does victory (i.e. free 'stachios) taste?

They taste like sweet roasted victory.

I'm flying out to see Spivey in Colorado on Wednesday, should be a pretty good time. Hopefully he can give me some good jerb advice and I can coast through 1LOL, 2LOL, AND 3LOL. That's how it works, right?

Definitely how it works. I love the new distinctions.

So I'm bored at work and shopping for a 1L computer.

I like Toshibas, mostly 'cause they're dirt cheap. Just got my 1L laptop for like $350 and it's got great specs.

http://www.toshiba.com/us/computers/lap ... %2Flaptops You just have to look out for deals.

A lot of people will say Toshibas lack quality consistency and would say Lenovos are a safer (still cheap) bet. I prefer to live on the edge and buy more beer.

I had a Lenovo all through undergrad and it was great.

I also just wiped and rebuilt my newer Lenovo in preperation for 1L, saved myself some money that way.

I'm thinking of going with a thinkpad yoga since my laptop functions as a primary computer at home as well.

Yeah you've got nothing to worry about at a lower price point. Assuming that, as a law student, you'll be almost exclusively reading, writing, and streaming video, a cheaper Lenovo would be a real safe buy IMO. But if you can shell out for something fancy, go for it, of course.

Good to know, I have absolutely no idea what I want to do. I lightly game, but nothing too serious or intense. I've ran games on my old MacBook that I'm currently on that is a POS so not really worried.

I really want a MacBook Air but I don't know if I can justify spending 1k on something that is primarily used for keeping notes.

Don't worry. I won't tell anyone.

I'm definitely going to keep using my 2011 MacBook Pro. It still manages to go from sleep mode to internet connected in less than ten seconds despite my willingness to encounter many types of internet maliciousness. Although I don't really game anymore, I've been able to run a few games on it in low settings without much trouble. I managed to buy an HDMI cable and converter for less than $10. I'm pretty sure I could still sell it for half of what I bought it for, so it has been a pretty good investment.

So I'm considering pulling the trigger on an apartment in North Campus, only, it happens to be less than a block away from an In and Out Burger. As someone who'd never been to an In and Out, am I right to think that this would be a borderline suicidal decision?

*Disclaimer- I was VERY well acquainted with In and Out long before moving to Austin

I drive by that In and Out every day when driving home from school. I stop there about once a week, and that stop is not planned and only due to its siren song. Do with that information what you must.

Every time I'm grabbing something to go, I'll think "Hmmmm I'll get sonic" then end up with a double double.

In my city, Culvers was recently introduced and hasn't even put a dent in In n Out's business. I will probably end up getting it for lunch now. A delicious double cheeseburger and fries for $5? Yes please. Also, my credit card (BoA) has a promotion right now that gave me $2.25 for eating there...

I don't think my state has any In and Out Burgers, unless it's got a northern counterpart like Carls Jr/Hardees.

In-N-Out just came to Texas and specifically the Austin area. They're following the flocks of people moving from Cali.

How close is Bruegger's Bagels to campus? Might be my favorite place to eat something quick.

3267 Bee Cave Road, and 3425 South Lamar Boulevard. I'd map them out but I'm on my phone at work.

Seriously? What are you waiting for?

Now there's a charge.
