Will the financial aid resource on the admitted students page only show loans? Or will it list grants as well? I haven't heard about either one yet.

Looks like every award will be listed here. I still haven heard about loans (which, eugh, I hope they release soon, given that orientation starts in T-Minus 69 days (heh.)

Thanks! And yeah I assume summer starters should have all their info relatively quickly. I'm a fall starter so I guess it could take some time for me.alex.cm wrote:"Below you'll find your tentative financial aid offers. Dean's Scholarships will be finalized by a letter in the mail. +1. No need-based aid yet though. Also, I'm a fall starter.jk148706 wrote:The Stafford loan is listed on asw for me
In other news, getting through work and class today is proving to be difficult. I just want to go to Preview, hang out in the law school, and meet my future peers.
Oh, and campus is muddy and some of the sidewalks are partially flooded, so I would pack some rain boots in case you decide to wander around. If you're in the law school all day you shouldn't have a problem because it's self-contained, but the rest of campus is mucky right now due to the snow melt and rain. Hopefully everything will dry up by the time you guys get here, but no promises. Plus side: it's finally warm enough to have the snow melt, and have the precipitation falling from the sky be not frozen! (Though, with the wind it is still a little chilly, so there's that.)
Semi-related: If anyone is interested in an unofficial tour of campus, which you won't see much of while in law school since everything is so self-contained and you'll rarely have cause to be in the UG buildings, I'd be happy to show you around!

Re: Michigan Class of 2017
All,
I'm an MLaw 2010 graduate with a condo in Ann Arbor that I'm looking to rent, starting this summer or fall. I've been renting it to another MLaw student from 2011-present, but he's graduating this May.
The condo is in Woodland Mews, which is a couple miles south of campus. It's 1BR/1 bath/950 sq. ft. All the appliances were new in 06-07. My husband and I lived there for about five years, including while I was in law school. We loved the location--about a block from a good grocery store, coffee shop, drug store, dry cleaner's, and bakery. I drove to the commuter parking lot when I was in school--it's maybe a 2 mile drive, takes about 5 minutes if you get stuck at the lights. From the commuter lot, there's a free shuttle that drops off at the law school.
I'm asking $975 for rent. PM me if you're interested, and I can send you some pictures.

Re: Michigan Class of 2017
so a stafford loan has appeared on my financial aid award page, about a week after being admitted... but nothing else. someone please tell me that they sometimes do the separated award pieces on different days...because otherwise, michigan is no longer in the running for me.

The consensus seems to be that merit awards generally take about two weeks to be posted, so I wouldn't worry quite yet.wealtheow wrote:so a stafford loan has appeared on my financial aid award page, about a week after being admitted... but nothing else. someone please tell me that they sometimes do the separated award pieces on different days...because otherwise, michigan is no longer in the running for me.

Re: Michigan Class of 2017
Give it another week. Merit can take a little while to process (though likely within two weeks), whereas the fafsa quickly tells them about stafford almost automatically if my memory is correct. They're also all swamped doing Preview right now, so they might be a little slower.wealtheow wrote:so a stafford loan has appeared on my financial aid award page, about a week after being admitted... but nothing else. someone please tell me that they sometimes do the separated award pieces on different days...because otherwise, michigan is no longer in the running for me.

In the financial aid panel they just had like an hour ago, they said that many people haven't had that awarded yet. It took me a few weeks to get mine posted, and I think that's the same for a lot of people.alex.cm wrote:Does anyone else not have Stafford/other loans posted yet?
