wowhio wrote:So... What are you all planning to do in terms of lodging for Admitted Student Weekend? I was just checking and hotels are super expensive dear Lord.
You should get the option to stay with a current student.

Thanks for this very helpful tip.

Update: Booked! C'mon guys, let's fill the place up!
I'll definitely join you if they don't offer housing with students!

I can't book yet because I might be moving soon and would fly out of a different airport  but those prices are scaring me. I never thought that I would want to take the option to stay with a student, but I might have to. That $300 had seemed so generous too....

If i get in... party at my house. I live steps from the law school and it kills me (ok, sorry this sort of lamenting does not belong in this thread). I think the downtown Berkeley YMCA has a super cheap hotel, but also the school probably offers lodging with current students.

Checking in! Super excited.

The email said something about defraying costs for attending the ASW, and someone above mentioned $300 -- is that the standard amount?

Checkin in!

My biggest concern is that I'm from Texas with no ties to Cali or any other big legal market. Still need to do research on (1) whether it's easy to get LA/SF out of Berkeley without ties, (2) whether it's easy to get NYC from Berk without ties, and (3) whether I can get back to Texas from Berkeley (these are in order of my preference). If anyone can speak to these issues I'd really appreciate it. I was also wondering how difficult each of those would be relative to each other.

Last couple pages of the Berkeley ask a law student thread address this question.

Does the admissions packet have info on what the schedule is for ASW? I probably won't be able to attend Thursday, so hopefully nothing too critical is happening that day.

The information is located on the Berkeley AS website (they'll email you instructions on creating a login to view everything).

How long does it usually take to get the ASW email?
