Totally in the same situation! Not at all sure how the Philly housing market compares to NYC so I don't know how to proceed!

Spillycheese, make sure you go join the class of 2017 group for UPenn. As for housing, the class of 2016 thread has some great info, and you can always ask one of the Penn students taking questions.

Thanks! I'll definitely join the group and look into it. Full disclaimer: I haven't had the chance to read through the entire thread yet, but when is everyone planning to move to Philly?

Sorry if this has already been asked!

New Poll up, trying to get some discussion stirring. Let's find out where people are coming from for the upcoming class. Seems like as ASW, the majority of people I met were from Florida and Cali. Idk if that was just me though.
Also, lemme know if theres a poll idea you'd like to see!

When do people plan on arriving at Penn? Apparently we have to be there on the 27th.

I'm probably going to head down the week before orientation to get moved into my apartment and give my self some time to settle in

18 people have so far replied to the poll, yes only 10 are repping Penn in the class of 2017 thread. Lurkers, get in there and show some love for UPenn.

I am probably doing something similar. We should definitely have a TLS meet up.

I think our first orientation event is dinner and a play at the National Constitution Center. I was just trying to get as psyched about the Constitution Center as the school seems to be.

It's really nice, and there is a certain gravitas in having drinks and dinner overlooking the place where our entire modern government began.

And it's not really a play, but...you'll see. I enjoyed it.

Hey B.B., in your experience, how early do you think somebody should get there before orientation?

Before unofficial orientation, it's up to you, but I'd recommend having some time to get settled and explore a bit before they throw you into the deep end of a very boozy week.

Do you think we should try and make all the orientation events, or just the "mandatory" ones starting at the National Constitution Center? I don't want to not go to the unofficial events if a lot of students are going.

Those are the fun ones, and most people will be there. Lot of class bonding happens that week.

Seriously? What are you waiting for?
