Definitely seemed like it at ASW. I wouldn't want a car living there.bananagram wrote:Sorry if this has been asked previously - is a car completely unnecessary in Philly?
Yeah, no need to get one unless you really dislike public transportation.bananagram wrote:Sorry if this has been asked previously - is a car completely unnecessary in Philly?

Was finding an apartment that had a parking option difficult/expensive?Mr. Frodo wrote:1L at Penn here.
I've lived in the city for a significant number of years and have a large amount of knowledge about the law school and the city in general if you guys have questions.
Also, there is no reason to be afraid to keep your car here. In all my time in the city, I've parked around Penn's campus without any problems. I've also parked in very, very bad areas that you guys will likely never even go to and had no problems there either. The area around Penn and Drexel is very well protected and despite the fact it may look scary to people that are not familiar with such an urban environment, I can assure you that it is extremely safe.
So, bring your cars if you have them. There's a lot you can do around Philly if you have a car and all your classmates will think you're a total badass if you can drive your group of friends places.
No. Anywhere in University City you can find a free parking spot on the street relatively close to or sometimes even actually in front of your apartment. Living in center city means $200/mo. for parking though.KatyMarie wrote:Was finding an apartment that had a parking option difficult/expensive?Mr. Frodo wrote:1L at Penn here.

Sorry if this has been answered.
Personally, I like that they are taking their time to find a new dean. It's a great opportunity to push the school forward, and I'm sure the position will be highly coveted.mandyjay11 wrote:A new interim dean has been named! http://www.philly.com/philly/blogs/camp ... -Penn.html
Interim Deans are pretty common when an old one leaves.Personally, I like that they are taking their time to find a new dean. It's a great opportunity to push the school forward, and I'm sure the position will be highly coveted.
Just a plain blue Penn law shirt with "class of 2017" on the arm and the penn law goat on the back. Nothing specialBlackfish wrote:Also curious ^
