Re: Vanderbilt Class of 2017!
I may be able to provide clarification regarding Jackalope brews. A well known and popular alum from my school is a co-owner of the brewery and opened up a Jackalope tavern in the small town where I went to undergrad.
Bearwalker is the brown ale and it is sweet and crisp, but admittedly a tad syrupy.
Thunder Ann, in my opinion, is their best beer. But they are always coming out with tasty new seasonal selections.
If you are ever in Nashville or Sewanee, TN I recommend checking them out! I've heard Vandy law has events at the brewery quite frequently, which I am excited about.

Ahh that's it, Bearwalker.
You're right, it was syrupy. I did have it as a breakfast beer, though, so it wasn't out of place.

Sorry, can someone remind me of when the deadline for the first seat deposit and when to accept scholarships is? I meant to put it in my phone but forgot.

I was yeah. So...we don't have any yet? At least here? I don't any reports of $$$ higher than 110,000 on LSN yet.SplitMyPants wrote: Wait I think y'all were referring to the Law Scholars Merit Awards, right?

Looks like I'm headed to Vandy next year! Cornell made me decision really easy by being stingy, haha.

I'm deciding between 95k at Vandy and 45k at Duke. Any chance Vandy will increase my scholly offer due to the Duke offer? Or is the difference in $$ amount significant enough that they are not likely to increase/laugh at me for asking? Thanks

Vandy doesn't really negotiate, and I really doubt less $$$ would sway their decision. However, it's not like they'll take away your 95k for asking.ItsDonnaDuh wrote:I'm deciding between 95k at Vandy and 45k at Duke. Doesn't hurt to try! I attended the March ASP and spoke with a current 1L who said he was able to negotiate another 15k out of Vandy. Go for it, but don't expect a full ride

"Dear Vandy: Per "arklaw13" you should be giving me $110k. So make that happen. Kthxbye!"
Seriously? What are you waiting for?
Now there's a charge.
