Got in like a month ago, but checking into this thread now. This is probably where I'll end up assuming I don't get into like Harvard or Stanford which I hold really little hope for.

Dean Morrison's letter in the package says to contact him if you want more information on an area of interest. I wasn't sure if I'd be met with a canned message, but I sent him an email anyway. He responded within 24 hours with a clearly personalized response, saying he'd help me find someone in the field to answer questions.

Just thought I'd pass that on in case anyone was hesitant to take him up on his offer. It could turn out to be a great way to get info on NYU directly from professors in the field you're interested in.

That was pretty much my exact reaction as well.

After submitting Need Access and FAFSA, how long do you think it'll take for them to get back to you with a tentative scholarship offer? I know Duke specifically says they'll begin reviewing scholarship apps towards the end of this month on a rolling basis, but NYU hasn't really been vocal about its timeline.

Perhaps a current 1L could answer this?

This is a great question, I was just wondering the same.

Anyone else moderately disappointed/frustrated that none of NYU's ASWs are actually on weekends? I'm not technically allowed to take time off from my job January-May, and the only days I could realistically get off are Fridays. All three ASWs are Thursday-Friday, and I'm coming from the other side of the country, so I'd either be using close to a full day for travel or taking a redeye.

I agree, but so far I haven't seen any schools that have these on weekends. I guess they want you to see it "in action," also it might be harder to get student volunteers on a weekend.

Yes, so far only one school I am considering visiting is actually on a weekend. Makes it a bit of a pain work-wise.

Finally got my pizza box! Good thing it was such thick cardboard because the mailman dropped it in a pile of snow...

I like the sticky notes :)

The ASW advertisement thing is a bit weird. Looks very Valentinesy.

The some of the sticky notes have already been deployed around my workspace. :D

Hate the fact that admitted students days are on Thursdays. It looks like I won't be able to attend any.

Fully agreed - I'd love to go see NYU with the other admits, but taking off two days of work just isn't realistic when there are other ASW's to attend as well

If you define "using" as posting blank ones in spots to remind me that I received them, then yes.

But yeah, I've used a few, sudden pangs of regret.

I was actually considering framing each individual post-it and then posting it around my room and office.

I can honestly say that yes, yes, I did. 8) It was the first time I've used purple ink in years.

Awesome!

Now for the more important question, did it fit in your mailbox?
