Yeah the key is another law school that awards only need-based aid, I think. So that means just Yale or Stanford. My understanding is that they are pretty good about upping your offer if you get money from the other two, which can happen a lot because one doesn't count your house and the other doesn't count whatever else in their formulas so it gets different (often better) results.

We have a 3Bedroom/1Bathroom apartment about a 5 minute walk from the law school at the corner of Oxford and Hammond. Rent is $1050/month. The bedroom is spacious with great light and a large closet. We have a living room, dining room, eat-in kitchen, and back porch. Hardwood floors through out. Common areas are furnished with leather couches, a nice flat screen, and a traditional dining room set. Free laundry in the basement. Lease runs June 1, 2013 to May 31, 2014. PM me if interested!

FYI I know ddoodle IRL. She's not a serial killer, and the apartment is nice and very close to the school.

Also, they have the best dining room table of any law student apartment I've been to.

Just checked the weather report - 60s in Cambridge this weekend! Perfect weather for ASW!

Ignoring the part that says AM showers on Saturday. :)

Also...changed my vote in the poll. You might want to change the name of the 4th option!

So bummed I won't make it to ASW :( And I planned my visit to Penn and NYU a few days before I got into Harvard, so now I don't know if I'll be able to make it to Cambridge before making a decision :?

On the bright side, I feel like Penn and NYU are the schools that need to sell me at this point. An enlightening visit and a full (or near full) scholarship from either would certainly earn them serious consideration against Harvard for me. Not gonna lie though, I am heavily leaning to the north as of now

Going to ASW this weekend, looking for some pro-tips: what to do/avoid? anything that is can't-miss? best use of free time? Thanks, and I'll regret not seeing all of you March ASW'ers (till Sept. at least)!

I haven't been following this thread, so this question may already have been answered, but will I receive email notification when my aid package is ready to view?

Don't plan to meet new people at Carrie Nation, it's loud as hell: meet them during the day events. Best use of free time is drinking at night with people you' met during the day. If you ask Dean Minow what justice is during her Q&A I will buy you a beer or three at orientation. Don't use the phrase "JS1" when talking to professors. Tear it up. hth

Don't feel like sitting in on a class is a necessary part of the ASW experience. Any variance you see between classes will reflect a hundred times more on which professor was teaching than on which law school you were visiting.

If you don't have anything else to do, by all means sit in on a class. Otherwise find something to explore.

Thanks all, feel free to send me any more thoughts that occur to you. Good to know about the classes TripTrip; that was my intuition but it's good to have it confirmed.

Unless they tell you to go to Austin, they always have a reception waiting at the door I marked with a purple arrow:
