Yeah - I'd walk to Roxbury Crossing, Orange line toward oak grove and then switch at Downtown Crossing for the Red toward Alewife. Get off at Harvard Square. Not the quickest commute, but I would probably avoid the green line
thanks bud. Have any idea where you're going to deposit at yet?
I feel like we should start a pool. Taking bets on where lastsamurai ends up.

I feel like there is some serious money to be had in this.

I'm agonizing over this decision, but I'll have made it in the next week after my big deadline hits. Trying to balance debt with prestige with job opportunities with potential regret is making my head spin. At least there really isn't a wrong decision?

i'm sure it's been mentioned before, but the 1L2B email address is an awesome touch.
OOOHHHH. I FINALLY GET IT. I feel stupid. Image
I admit I've been seeing those emails for like 3 or 4 months now and it never occurred to me til right now.
I am so glad that I wasn't the only one who didn't understand that email address for a while. Harvard was clearly on their game when they admitted me :P

For those of you who attended the March ASW, how far beforehand did you receive more information about ASW (aside from the initial confirmation email)?

What more information are you asking about? The schedule is online and there was only a little bit of information that wasn't on it (like which mock trial they were going to do). Other than the reading and your class assignment, I don't think we got any additional information, and they give you a copy of your reading anyway and you can change more or less change classes if you don't like the one they assign to you.

Ok, so yeah, somehow I never noticed the registration times plastered in the upper corner of the schedule before now. I'm guessing those tables are easy to find within the school?

Had a great conversation with the 1L who called me from WLA yesterday. Started off talking about WLA and then moved on to talking about the school more generally. HLS sure knows how to woo their admitted students!

So true. Do Y/S do stuff like this too? Or any other schools? The book in the mail and the HLS email are pretty much the best "swag" you could ask for outside of a nice hoodie.

This! I've already got this shit sync'd with my personal email on my phone. It's just got me so used the idea of being a real student at HLS. Not sure I'll be able let it go.

[quote="paglababa"]What do you think of traveling from Brookline for ASW? Especially since some of the events occur in bars downtown at night? Apparently from there to HLS I can take the Green line & transfer to the red for 45 mins or I can alternatively take the Q66 directly.
quote]

The T from Brookline to HLS is very circuitous. Best way to get to HLS from Brookline is the 66 bus which runs up Harvard Street (I believe to Harvard Square) and runs pretty regularly.

Right inside the front door. You can't miss it.
In side the front door of which building?

Can't speak to Y, but S does. However, the book with the personalized message is still the best I've gotten so far.

SLS had the diversity group chair call me. Also, their moleskin notebook was classy (just don't tell them that I removed the SLS sticker, and replaced it with the HLS one  )

To be honest though, NYU by far has the strongest woo'ing. They had a New York Times best selling author/politician NYU grad email me directly, and i've easily had 3-4 emails/calls from other graduates/students. If I wasn't so set on HLS, they would have definitely gotten my vote.

+1 NYU has easily had the most amazing out reach effort I have ever seen. I've spoken to professors, influential alumni, and everybody in between.

Also, I got a nice moleskine from NU. They were smart though and had their logo ingrained onto the cover :P

The main law school building, WCC. It's a big, new building that really stands out. They'll have signs posted, and there are some campus maps around.
Thanks! I figure it was either there or Austin Hall, where they had the info sessions. But wanted to be sure.

ETA: I'm talking about the HAHLS (dorms) application
I successfully did this on 4/1. Hmm. I'm sure you looked at this, but just in case, here are the details on the username and password for the app:
Your login credentials for this application will be your LDAP credentials. The username will be based on your Harvard email address, and the password will be the same as the one for your Harvard email account.

http://www.law.harvard.edu/about/admini ... ounts.html

Please note that although the password is the exact same as your email password, the username is not exactly the same. It is only based on your Harvard email address. For example, if my Harvard email address is xbrown@jd17.law.harvard.edu then my username would be xbrown.jd17. Similarly, if my email is xbrown@llm15.law.harvard.edu, then my username would be xbrown.llm15.

Ya'll have any book recommendations? Not looking to "prep" really, just wondering about anything that's interesting. Maybe a history of HLS?

Song of Ice and Fire is pretty good, and I hear it's a lot like 1L.
