Re: Wash U Class of 2017
I agree, blink, this thread has been woefully neglected lately. Lets post about our difficulties hunting for apartments, our projected move dates, and then lets all offer to help each other move furniture up staircases.
I'm newly married and am making the drive out to mo from ca a sort of honeymoon. We are leaving Jun 25 and arriving july 1st. Gonna stop at zion canyon, bryce canyon, and arches in ut and then spend two days in denver before making a final push through kansas and western missouri. It's gonna be great. I think I've got an apartment in dogtown, but i still haven't paid a deposit, so who knows? What about y'all?

I have an apartment in CWE, moving in August 1st or 2nd. I'm most excited for the first two weeks before school where we get to explore STL and get trashed every night with our new classmates.georgej wrote:I agree, blink, this thread has been woefully neglected lately. Yeah, I'm with you Scott. I feel more excited about being in a new city than law school really. The calm before the storm, as it were. And I'm really stoked there are casinos, too.

Checking in! Anyone have suggestions on apartment companies? Down for the CWE or loop. Also, are furnished apartments rare to find?
Thanks!
edit: or has anyone used the CORT furniture rental company?

+1 Any advice on where to start the housing search? Is there an aggregate site for landlords/apartments?aesth24 wrote:Checking in! Anyone have suggestions on apartment companies? Down for the CWE or loop. Also, are furnished apartments rare to find?

I've never had to walk more than 5 min. to class during undergrad so I'm pretty terrified about the apartment search haha. (I won't be having a car, sadly...)

I committed to Wash U. this morning. So relieved that the negotiation roller coaster is over.

I won't have a car either, and I'm living in the CWE. It's about a 10 minute walk to the metro from my apartment, and the metro is free for wustl students. You're not limited to places right around campus.cheme2014 wrote:+1rahulg91 wrote:+1 Any advice on where to start the housing search? Haha that's what I've been trying to tell my parents. They're adamant that I get a place as close to campus as possible, since "OMG what if you get mugged on the metro" It's very silly, but I'm K-JD and they're paying for everything, so... lolscottidsntknow wrote:I won't have a car either, and I'm living in the CWE. I probably can't make Housing Day, since term ends mid-June, but I'll probably fly out in July to (hopefully) find a place.

If they're paying for everything, then I'd advise you even more to get a nice place in the CWE. The Dean literally mentioned in an email to me how she has lived in the CWE and how I'll be fine without a car.cheme2014 wrote:Haha that's what I've been trying to tell my parents. Re: Wash U Class of 2017
Jackson Arms in CWE does, but from all the ones I've searched it's a no. I just found a pretty cool place, but I'll be using CORT to furnish it. I know of a few students in Parc and someone posted in the WUSTL fb page looking for a roommate in metrolofts.PourMeTea wrote:are there any other non-metro loft apartments in CWE that come furnished? also, do any law students live in metro loft/parc frotenac?
Seriously? What are you waiting for?
