Almost.
I will take the advice of a previous poster and try to negotiate a bit closer to April.

Not as good numbers, but 1 month seems long for them now

Don't read too much into it. You've seen how wonky schollys are this year. You're in at Texas, I'm sure you'll be offered something at Wash U.Attax wrote:Not as good numbers, but 1 month seems long for them now

Just got accepted on Wednesday! GPA slightly below 25th, LSAT above 75th. Is anyone else considering the ASW? I was accepted into Vanderbilt and I'm going to that one, but I'm on the fence with WUSTL since I haven't seen many people posting about it.

Received scholarship information today after being accepted 2 weeks ago.
Honestly, a little disappointed. Thinking about my game plan for negotiation moving forward. PM for details if interested.

Just got my scholarship email! Does anybody have any clue (read: anecdotal evidence or wild speculation) about the range for offers? By this I mean if the initial offer is 16k/yr, how much could I potentially get after negotiations? Also I know people have been disappointed by their offers- is 16k a low offer? I'm not at all familiar with scholarships lol I'm just happy I'm not starting from $0.

Final offer could be much more appealing. Negotiate politely but aim high. Good luck!gta wrote:Received scholarship information today after being accepted 2 weeks ago.

16k/year certainly isn't low in my book. Check out lawschoolnumbers.com using last year's cycle if you wanna see some wild possibilities. This year could be different, but people have gone from low to very high before. You can also dig through last year's threads.CookieDough wrote:Just got my scholarship email! Honestly, nominal scholarship numbers aren't of much value when comparing schools. You guys should be looking at total COA, and then deciding if the price differential is worth it.Fiero85 wrote:16k/year certainly isn't low in my book. Re: Wash U Class of 2017
I was just curious if people considered it low given the disappointment in this thread. I'm personally pleased with it as an initial offer. And I totally agree on COA, which is why I'm interested in negotiating a higher amount. Coming from CA with free rent I can't justify the move without more money.MarkinKansasCity wrote:Honestly, nominal scholarship numbers aren't of much value when comparing schools. How long after your acceptance letter do you find out your scholarship offer? Is it via mail or email?

WashU came back with a scholarship increase out of the blue. Pretty hefty one at that. I haven't been in contact with them at all since admission.

Decent increase. Still not feasible, but good start.
