Congratulations y'all!

My scholarship info still hasn't been mailed, but I like the (unnecessarily large) t-shirt that came last week.

ETA: Mailed today! This letter better arrive before I leave for a different school's Open House on Thursday...

Congrats for all on the scholarships. Are those $$$ are merit based on your status, right?
I am still waiting for mine.

My scholarship form was received mid-Feb (over a month ago at this point) but there's nothing about a letter on my status checker. I called to make sure they had all the relevant info and was told it just takes time (I was accepted in mid-Nov, if that's relevant). Is anyone else in this boat?

They're just guessing at what they think you're worth. Sometimes they're wrong though. I'm sure if you negotiate with your higher Chicago offer they will increase theirs to match or exceed.

I'll start negotiating soon. Just unpleasantly surprised after some of the offers I saw ITT, the Chicago offer, and what I've seen on LSN.

I wonder if it has anything to do with sending the forms in late---maybe they interpreted that as a sign that I won't attend?

Does anyone think Priority Track status makes a difference in the allocation of scholarship money?

Same here. :| Would it be appropriate to email and ask? Need to respond to NYU by April 1st...

I hope so :)

No idea and haven't read anything about it before, but I guess one could try to establish a trend with past years' data. Of course, how reliable the LSN data is as to who indicated a special procedure (PT) for Duke and what I would assume would be a tenuous relationship, if one exists at all, means that I wouldn't put much stock in any derived conclusions. So I'm going to say that I highly doubt it and that there probably isn't good evidence otherwise.

This may be a stupid/incorrect thought, but I was under the impression that there wasn't really a "late" submission for FinAid (or at least, it isn't late as of yet). Most people can't accurately input actual information on the FAFSA/Need Access until they have W-2s for 2013, unless absolutely nothing has changed in their lives and they use estimated figures based on 2012's tax return. I couldn't have submitted anything until mid-Feb at the earliest (promotion plus taking on a side job) because I didn't have my W-2s.

Doubt it. I wouldn't think anything of it. You can't take any of this process personal. They are of course going to attempt to give all of us the lowest possible scholarship that they think will still be enough to win us over. In your case they simply guessed a little low.

If they didn't want you or thought you wouldn't attend they wouldn't have accepted you. Once they have accepted you, they want to do everything they can to make sure you attend.

90K! 3.71, 172. Definitely makes me more interested in Duke, but still not sure if it outweighs CCN even at sticker.... Decisions, decisions.

If you can't get money from those schools, it should be Duke all the way. You do not want to be 300k in the negatives.

Please please please do not turn down $90k (or more if you negotiate) at Duke to go to CCN at sticker. It isn't worth it.

But actually. That's like a minimum $135k debt at graduation difference between Duke and CN. Plus all the accumulated interest you'll rack up while trying to pay sticker off. Easy decision.

Is it me or is Duke really generous with money? They already have the second lowest COA in the T14 and 85.3% of their students receive grants (both according to USNWR)? Duke with 90k seems like a no brainier over CCN sticker.

Ya they seem to spread the money around well rather than concentrating it near the top as I've heard people claim about NYU.
