1L here, feel free to ask me anything.
Also for you Jeffersonian wait listers I can give you a reference point. I was 37th on the wait list last year and got the second to last one bedroom available.
For those of you who didn't apply to the Jeff, for the love of God do not live at the pavilion if you can help it. It is about twice the price of anything else on Arlington Blvd/Ivy.

Still finalizing most likely will start within the next two weeks and run until mid-July I'm guessing.alex.cm wrote:Did thic ever actually end up happening? Is there any advantage to get FAFSA or Need Access in early? Or as long as it is before the Feb 14th deadline it is all the same.

Send an email to the financial aid office. They are very nice and quick with responding to emails.Gooner91 wrote:Is there any advantage to get FAFSA or Need Access in early? Or as long as it is before the Feb 14th deadline it is all the same.

Is UVa your top choice? Given you got into all the schools.

I really like UVA, though, and I think it would be a great experience. Stanford is still probably my top choice (if I am ever admitted) but I am pretty psyched about this option! I'm paying for my education entirely on my own and, though I have no undergrad debt, financial aid will definitely play a large part. UVA has a really great LRAP program (probably better than Stanford's), which is pretty persuasive in and of itself. And the welcoming atmosphere thus far from the school has been incredible. I hope that I'll be able to visit the school soon, and see if that atmosphere exists elsewhere on campus too!
And, of course, you all seem like amazing people to have as future classmates
I am a little worried about how fast housing seems to be going though...

Awesome group so far! Looking at the housing options that have been talked about.. basically my criteria is very close to the school and in good condition.. sounds like Jefferson it is!
So, assuming I choose to wait on Jefferson, would furnished or unfurnished be recommended? Are their affordable furniture places in town?
Also, is it basically just ivy, jefferson, and pavilion for law students looking to be within 5-10 mins walking of campus?
If anyone has any experience with these, what are the pros/cons of each? Is Jefferson best bargain?
thank you!

Most of the big box retailers are in C-Ville and I think there is a furniture on 29 near north grounds. There are more options than those three. One other option is the arlington park townhomes which are right across from pavilion/Jeffersonian.dempsey6 wrote:Awesome group so far! For reference I'm in the lower portion of the top 10 (can't remember what # exactly) on the waiting list of the Jeff and was informed by the landlord that the furnished options will probably all be taken by then, so most of us will probably be getting un-furnished 1 and 2 bedroomsdempsey6 wrote:Awesome group so far! Re: UVA Class of 2017
This is what worries me the most about attending UVA. I really like the school but it would be a cross country move which is never fun to do blind. And all the good housing was already snapped up by people admitted in the fall. I'm interested in attending but I don't want to be stuck in a crappy living situation for all of 1LDaily_Double wrote:Welcome to the group. Sorry to burst your bubble but unless you literally buy someone's waitlist position*, you're not going to get Jeffersonian.
Seriously? What are you waiting for?
