Just got confirmed for a large single at 13 South. Housing search officially over... for three months.

ETA: I'm also hoping on a bus to NYC tomorrow, does anyone potentially know where the bus picks up and drops off on campus (Coach USA)?

stops in a lot of place. CC lot, west campus, outside collegetown bagels, and downtown on the state street bus terminal.

If anyone's looking for housing and wants a studio in Collegetown Terrace let me know. I know someone subletting their studio for next year (basically, assigning the rest of the lease to them starting whenever you want to move in). Great location, price locked for last year, grad-only building, 1 min walk to gym / shuttle / garage, first person living there. Also, biggest studio offered at CTT.

Lavitz, Cornell undergrads, any suggestions on what to do for banking? I was thinking of just signing up for Cornell's credit union since it's connected to the bookstore. Any recommendations?

I honestly never switched from Citibank. I brought checks with me, used my debit card for everything and, whenever I needed cash, I would get cash back after shopping at Wegmans. Any checks I got, I would deposit with the mobile app (although it hasn't been working since the last "update"). I haven't needed to visit a branch for anything.

So I don't really have an opinion on the credit union or the local banks. Like anyriotgirl said, M&T and BoA are around here. And I know past Cornellians have used charles schwab.

You mean like for Hughes? Read your housing contract. It says it somewhere in there. I think you only pay a fee if you withdraw after a certain date.

When they ask for transcripts do they want all transcripts (like summer school class at community college) or just the transcript of the school you graduated from?

What does it say, exactly? Usually they specify with language such as "please send transcript from your degree granting institution" vs. "please send all transcripts from any institution which you attended pursuant to your degree" or something.

Off the top of my head I think it's wherever you got credit from, but could be wrong.

I still haven't finished the health stuff, but consensus was it's relatively okay and penalty free right?

i would guess it's anywhere you got credit from. at this point, at least (meaning, when you applied they usually say just degree-granting, but when youre admitted they want everything for records).

and yeah, should be fine. iirc the "real" penalty is levied after a deadline in sep/oct or something

Class schedule is up. Obviously you don't know what classes you're in until you get your section assignment a few weeks before classes start. But you get to see what the potential arrangements are.

Also, I made this spreadsheet for you because it's nicer to look at and easier to figure out your schedule once you get your section. Will add it to the OP that nobody reads.

Initial observations: we lost a bunch of faculty this year and they had to really mess around with the schedule to get it to work.
  • 5/6ths of you will be in a 170-person Contracts class.
  • Section C gets to have two 2-section classes--one with E and one with F--while the other 3 sections get no such 2-section class. In fact, C is the only section not in the large Contracts class either.
  • Sections D and E randomly spend 20-30 minutes more in ConLaw and Torts, respectively, than everyone else, unless the profs end class early. Section D also has the earliest Friday class ever, and Section E has a brutal mid-week crunch.
  • Clerkship gunners should hope for Section B with that nice combo of Atlas for Lawyering and Dorf for small section ConLaw. Not to mention Heise, Hillman and Holden-Smith are just great.

Anyway, you shouldn't worry about this now, but it was up and I was bored so here you go.

Oh god, those two early Friday classes do not sound fun.
