I have a feeling you'll need to play some serious hardball (e.g. actually withdrawing due to a lack of $$) to get some money as an ED. That and above median numbers.

Managed to actually log on with my password today. I was doing a bunch of reading on Ciriculum B. Is anyone interested in pursuing this? Or know anyone who has? I wonder if it's really considered on par with A or if it limits you.

Re: Georgetown Class of 2017
My campus-tour guide at the information session said they've done studies investigating the outcomes of Curriculum B students vis-à-vis Curriculum A students and found that there's no drop-off in employment. He also said that there's a bit more reading with Curriculum B, which steers people clear.politics89 wrote:Managed to actually log on with my password today. Hi, all!
Has anyone taken a look at the need access form and been completely baffled by all the questions about the questions asking you to estimate your saving by 9/1/2014? I understand they need a lot of info for a complete picture, but I was waiting for the form to ask how expensive my current outfit was.
Also, anyone else struggling with the non-custodial parent part? I'm from a single-parent family and I was wondering if anyone in a similar situation had successfully gotten around that bit.

Does anyone know if there a disadvantage to submitting the financial aid forms right before/on the deadline?
My parents won't have their taxes done for a few weeks and I am worried this could negatively affect my potential for financial aid...
May just call financial aid tomorrow to find out.

Re: Georgetown Class of 2017
This may be a silly question but are ED applicants still considered for any financial aid at all?
All signs point to no - but my numbers profile makes me borderline eligible. How did people receiving aid hear about it? It would be nice for even 20$ extra but I'm just happy to be in.

For a single parent, just put 0 or N/A for everything on the second parent and put a note in there saying it's a single parent. That's what I did last year and it was okay.mkaykay915 wrote:Hi, all!

FYI: The GULC "Yellow Form" that needs to be completed along with NeedAccess and FAFSA hasn't even been posted on their website yet.BmoreOrLess wrote:I'm going to be right up against the deadline for the same reasons.cactusflower wrote:Does anyone know if there a disadvantage to submitting the financial aid forms right before/on the deadline?

FYI for the posters talking about curriculum A vs B, my alumni interviewer had a strong opinion against B, saying the material it covers is not what employers generally want to see; though if there isn't a statistically significant difference between A and Bs employment outcomes I'm not really sure where he got that conclusion. He also referred to them as more of a 'cult' and 'elitist' than A. So maybe he was bitter haha. Just an anecdote for anyone considering it.

I'm in the PT division as well- I think there's a lot to be said for working/making enough money at your job that it mitigates the loan burden. I don't know that I'll end up at Georgetown, but the financial argument can be very persuasive, even if I'm terrified of the stress level.

Re: Georgetown Class of 2017
So, still no word on scholarships, right? Last year they send out invites in early Feb, followed by "finalist" essay in mid Feb. Did the finalist thing happen this year?
Seriously? What are you waiting for?
