Been researching a bit, but wanted to get some firsthand advice or stories. Anyone know if it's possible to clerk here right after grad.? Seems the general pattern is to clerk elsewhere for a year or so, then try a hand at SCOTUS.
Also, does it become harder to get SCOTUS the lower your school is ranked (e.g. top 5%er at a T20-15 school would be comparable to a top 25%er at HYS when assessing who gets the gig)?

Re: SCOTUS
No, you don't clerk for SCOTUS right out of law school. Yes, something that is already hard to do becomes MUCH MUCH MUCH harder the lower ranked your school is. Read this thread: http://top-law-schools.com/forums/viewt ... 4&t=230822

Re: SCOTUS
You are correct. Top 5% at T20 has the same chance as top 25% at HYS of clerking for SCOTUS.
Clearly when you say you researched bit, emphasis was on the "bit".

Probably true, actually. Both have essentially zero chance.Anonymous User wrote:You are correct. Top 5% at T20 has the same chance as top 25% at HYS of clerking for SCOTUS

Re: SCOTUS
Yes, absolutely zero. Also, if you're in law school and posting on this forum asking about who gets SCOTUS clerkships, you probably don't have a chance.Emma. wrote:Probably true, actually.
