Are these interviews/offers going to rising 2Ls (hard to believe because it's prior to LR for atleast the T6)?

Not all of them. A few 1Ls.

Garland and Griffith, at least, have made offers.

Reinhardt has interviewed and may have made offers.

At least one.

Kavanaugh has also made offers. (Not necessarily to HLS students).

Sutton has recently hired another 2017 clerk. Might be full for 2017.

Are there any current clerks/former clerks in here who are familiar with the application review process?

1) how would your judge view TAing for two classes in one semester? One would be legal writing and the other one would be civil procedure or contracts. I'd still take 3 graded courses. Would your judge care or nah?

Neither of my judges would care at all. On the other hand, though, really glowing letters of recommendation are quite helpful. So if TAing got you a great and more personal letter, that might be worth it.

I doubt my judge would have even noticed that. And it's not something either I or my co-clerk would have flagged either. I would just look to see if the applicant had taken the typical clerking classes and how well he or she had done.

In the same vein, if you're taking the usual clerking BLL classes can you swap out a seminar for a research position?

Yeah, obviously I can't speak for every judge, but I can't imagine that would be a problem for the vast majority. So long as you're not ducking fed courts, admin, etc., to take fluff classes, you're fine.

Anyone have any updates on NYC-based Second Circuit?

OSCAR shows Katzmann, Sack, Lynch, and Straub as full.
That leaves Jacobs, Raggi, Leval, Lohier, Kearse, Livingston, Newman, Chin, and Parker.
