2L that wants to clerk in 2017--timeline?

Post by Anonymous User » Fri Jan 16, 2015 1:59 pm

Sorry if this is a basic question, but the new search function here on TLS is awful. I am a 2L and I'm hoping to clerk in 2017 after working for a year at a firm. When should I generally begin the process if I am interested in the 2017 term? During the beginning of 3L, or would the process start while I'm already at the firm? Thanks.

Timeline will vary dramatically depending on court. Where do you want to clerk? Fed appellate/district/state supreme/other? What area of the country? Thinking about particular courts?
