Plan Day + 7 Days, Thread - Update On-Plan Calls Here

Post by Citizen Genet » Thu Jun 27, 2013 8:23 am

Alright, so tomorrow is D-Day. As discussed in the other thread (http://top-law-schools.com/forums/viewt ... 4&t=211773), the activity will probably be a bit diminished from previous years because of how the system is going to work this year. (For those who are unaware, 2Ls will be able to submit applications starting tomorrow and judges are permitted to start calling at the exact same time.)

So, if you get a call, please let us know in here. And please continue to update here for up to 7 days after the plan date (up to July 5) so we can see how things taper off. If you don't want to use your screenname, feel free to post anon or to message me. Any information is helpful so that next year's applicants can get a sense of what to expect in terms of call load.

And we're off.

Remember, as long as you don't do that today, it's been a success.

What's the earliest time you think calls will start going out?

Depends if on-plan judges are truly following the plan. If so, they can't even look at apps until noon, so probably not til later this afternoon. Otherwise, who knows.

I guess so. You'd have to be doing that to call anytime today, really. Otherwise the judges that basically waited until apps are in to even review them (i.e., any judge that only participates via OSCAR and did not take apps early) can't practically review enough applications in one afternoon to make a reasonable, informed decision on who to interview. Just imo. There's probably going to be plenty of calls between today and next Wednesday or so.

I'm an alum, but I received a call this morning and chambers said they were notifying all applicants now which I assume included rising 3L's.

Yes. That should be fairly obvious.

For those of you receiving/hoping to receive calls, I presume that you sent paper apps before today, correct?

Yep all via email and all from OSCAR apps. Means nothing, but indicates some chambers are at least looking.

Seems pretty quiet - is it still early? I only applied to a few judges and they're typically off-plan, but wondering how others are faring.
