Of all the judges in the 11th Cir., I've heard nothing but positive things about Beverly Martin (if you lean left) and Ed Carnes (if you lean right). Carnes is one of the circuit's only feeders.

Also, any news on Jill Pryor? Hopefully she gets confirmed soon...

I've heard Wilson and Jordan are good to work for too.

I suspect that many judges have begun interviews. There are a bunch that moved early in recent cycles. Carnes, Pryor, Martin, Jordan, etc. I would be surprised if a lot of the plan-followers haven't moved up also. Actually, Pryor is a way bigger feeder than Carnes. Frankly, so are Edmondson and Anderson, although not so much recently. Martin and Carnes both have reputations for being harder on clerks than the usually laid back 11th Circuit. Who knows how that compares to true hardasses on other circuits though. All quiet on the Jill Pryor front. I suspect there is some internal movement but you probably won't hear any news until she's very near confirmation. Jordan gets nothing but rave reviews from other judges and attorneys. Not sure about clerks.

Actually, according to Wikipedia (which may not be correct):

Carnes: 3 clerks
Pryor: 2 clerks
Edmonson: 3 clerks (but one was to Blackmun, who is no longer serving)
Anderson: 2 clerks

If I were targeting the 11th Cir. with hopes of SCOTUS, I would aim for Carnes or Pryor, both of whom have done well in recent years.

Pryor has bigger feeder potential in the future than Carnes, without a doubt. He's one of the rising stars of the conservative A3 judiciary.

Has anyone who interviewed with Judge Pryor received an offer yet? Any indication about when he will make decisions?

Jordan has filled at least one 2014 spot.

Wilson usually hires closer to the plan date. He hired a 3L from here last year after the plan date. He also hires a TON from here (he's ND '76 NDLS '79). Sometimes 2 per term.

Pryor hired a 2L from Notre Dame. Not sure if he's done, but it seems likely.

I don't know anyone that's heard back yet. Likely a ding since she only had to read two pieces of paper per applicant.

My cover letter was kind of spare, per my clerkship office, but now I wonder if I shouldn't have made this one wordier.

Can anyone confirm Hull and/or Martin are interviewing 2Ls at this point? Everything I've heard suggests they are on plan for 2Ls.

Seriously? What are you waiting for?
