Top Law Schools

Transfer tier 1 to lower t14. Top 1% 1L. At least top 5% fall 2l. Not very good recs. Chances federal level+where am I competitive? Secondary journal. Thanks.

Depends on what you mean by not very good recs. If you just mean that you don't know the profs that well, you can easily remedy that this semester. If that's the case, then I think you have a decent shot at a COA (i.e., non-feeder) and a good shot at districts (its hard to predict competitive districts since more and more there is a strong preference for alums). If you apply broadly and get to know your profs, you should get an A3 clerkship.

Agreed. Keep up your grades and your top 5% T14 transfer credentials *will* get you an interview at many, many districts. We had an applicant at my chambers (in a competitive district) in a similar situation but with worse numbers (think top 10% transfer) and his resume was pulled out of the pile. Get to know your profs, do research assistantships, and go to office hours. Even if it takes the rest of law school to do it, you can always apply post graduation.
