GW Law housing

I'm new to TLS & have some questions about GW Law. If anyone here can answer, that would be fab. I'm attending GW Law this fall & plan on living alone the first year (just wanna do my thing without any inconveniences.) I'm highly interested in the Aston but a) space is limited and I haven't heard back from "them" ever since I inquired about availability b) I'm assuming it's really expensive, yet I haven't found a fixed price - does anyone know the cost? And does anyone happen to know if there is still availability in the Aston or whether the guy responds at all to emails?!

Also, are there any similar alternatives to Aston housing? Meaning, studios close to the law school and in a building preferably without undergraduate students/only with law student/grad students? (So not down for party music every night). And would these studios be furnished already?

Thanks in advance!!

Here's the reply email I received re: Aston.
Abadname,

It's great to hear from you.

We have reserved an apartment for you in the Aston for the 2013-2014 academic year. As you may know, all units in the Aston are single occupancy, so you will have your own space (to be occupied by you only), complete with full private bathroom and full kitchen with stove, oven, microwave, dishwasher, and full-size refrigerator. Your apartment also will be furnished with a twin bed with drawers in the frame, night stand, dresser, television stand, desk, and chair. You will have plenty of room to furnish the unit with your own items as well. The cost for the Aston will be $8,550 per semester, billed along with tuition for the fall and spring semesters. All utilities, including electricity, water, cable television, and high-speed Internet access, are included.

The Aston is located at 1129 New Hampshire Avenue, NW, just a few blocks from the Law School. It sits in a prime location, at the intersection of the Foggy Bottom and Dupont Circle neighborhoods, and is within easy walking distance of the Georgetown neighborhood and the downtown/National Mall area. GW's large and recently-built health and wellness center also is within walking distance. Although parking is not offered at the Aston, the building is very close to the Foggy Bottom Metro station, and many social and grocery outlets are steps away (Trader Joe's and Whole Foods are each within two blocks).

While the exact move-in date has yet to be determined by the GW Housing Office, which manages the Aston, you can expect that it will be approximately August 10th. You will hear from me with an update later this spring.

Thanks, wondering when you received this email? Crossing my fingers that there are still available studios.

I'm told that Matthew Dillard, the man in charge of booking the Aston, is easier to get a hold of by phone as his email get backed up . You can call him at 202.994.7230. They may be filled up at the moment, but I'm willing to bet a great many people drop out as you didn't have to put down a deposit to get a reservation and their are cheaper places out there, so the waitlist is probably crackable.

Luckily I've got my place at the Aston reserved.... hopefully i see you there in august (move in date is August 10th btw)
