So we're all going to make time for bar review every week next year, correct?

According to the FBook group, looks like Cornell will have a solid number of California students. Assuming they are indeed attending.

I say we make it multiple bar reviews every week. Just so we're, ya know, prepared.

I'm back to report that I received my Hughes assignment today :)

And now to multi-quote:

Sorry, it looks like you're stuck with me :P But don't worry, I have a feeling quite a few people with big scholarships will be turning them down soon.

I look forward to seeing you all in Ithaca this fall.

Well, at least we get guinness. Seriously though, glad to hear this :)

I'm planning on going out one night a week. Not sure where the bar reviews are usually held but I've heard good things about Friday nights at the Big Red Barn.

I'm not able to make it to this week's ASW, but do you guys think it would still be beneficial to visit to check it out? And where do I stay hotel-wise? Do I fly into Syracuse? Is there a shuttle like there is for AA?

ETA: Craigslist wise wtf is going on for housing. Is there really nothing or is this just a slow time of year?

Yes. You have to send in your seat deposit first. You should do that now

If/when I go the Cornell route it's going to be so hard to say goodbye to Michigan. All their communications are so awesome. I underlined my favorite part.

While it may be hard to recall by now, after receiving so many glossy brochures and near-incessant emails extolling the virtues of Michigan Law School, our very first communication to you as an admitted student was your offer letter. Once you got to the exciting part about the offer, you might have just stopped reading. If you did, you may have missed the little detail explaining that to reserve your seat in the class, you need to submit a seat deposit of $300 by April 30. Enrollment deposits may be paid by credit card or check, and instructions are available on the admitted student website.

Now, if you've already sent your deposit and are nonetheless getting this email, don't panic: I'm quite sure everything is fine. We will confirm our receipt of your deposit with a letter sent out the day after we get it, and the Mail and Money feature on the admitted student website will also reflect that we’ve received it. And we're not super fussy; if something went astray, just contact us and we'll work it out.

If you haven't submitted your deposit, and there are some lingering questions we can answer... just give us a holler. We're eager to do whatever we can to help persuade you to join us.

And finally, there's always the gruesome possibility that you've settled on some other law school. That will make us sad, of course, but we try to be realistic about these things; we recognize that there are a few other law schools out there with something to offer. It would be great, though, if you could respond to this email to let us know.

Seriously. It feels like it's too late to find decent housing. I have a feeling I'm going to end up in Hughes when it's all said and done.

I know what you mean. I felt really bad about withdrawing from there. But that's why I knew I had to rip off the bandage quickly. It's pretty easy to tug on my heartstrings, and I knew they'd keep ramping up the emotional appeals if I lingered with my decision.

I've got to be the worst person to answer any of these questions: never done an independent visit to a school, did not fly in, stayed in an inn that would probably give you a terrible impression of the area, haven't investigated off-campus housing thoroughly. I'll try anyway.

The one person I know who did an independent visit to Cornell wasn't very impressed--well, with Ithaca anyway. If you're seriously considering Cornell, then I think you should visit but I don't see you falling in love with the school by taking one tour, if that's what you're looking for. Could be wrong though. Of course if you ask Sarah, I'm sure she could arrange for you to meet with additional students or something, but it may be a bad time with finals approaching.

The place I stayed was cheap but sketchy. I didn't mind but I'm not sure I'd recommend it for anyone else. I know a few people stayed at the Best Western and it had shuttle service to the campus and the Commons.

I've heard the consensus is to fly into Syracuse as opposed to the Ithaca-Tompkins Regional Airport. Don't remember why and I'm not sure what the preferred method is for getting from Syracuse to Ithaca.

Haven't checked craigslist in a while, but even a few months ago, I remember not seeing anything I liked. If you're down with roommates, a bunch of people on the facebook page are sharing info. Someone just posted something about renting rooms in a house for $450 each.

Need someone else to answer these questions effectively

Can someone speak on this? I will be visiting soon and there are plenty of flights going into the Ithaca airport.
