Do you know anything about the grad school apartments? A few of them look nice on the outside but there are no pictures of the interior.

No idea. The prices aren't bad, though! I would guess, having been in undergrad housing, that the furniture sucks, so probably go for unfurnished if possible.

ETA: I would not really recommend living in any of the ones below 60th until you're more familiar with the neighborhood. That area is safer than it once was, but is still dicier than the rest of hyde park.

Thank you. I've been looking at the floor plans and they look exceptionally spacious!

I live in one of the grad student apartment buildings (have for the last 2 years), and I love it! Most of the buildings are much older than Regents, which is more my style anyhow (our unit has hardwood floors, built in bookcases, and a nonfunctional, but very pretty fireplace). We have an unfurnished 1bdrm and it's plenty of space (separate kitchen, dining room, living room, an office area currently being used as a second bedroom for our son, plus a screened in porch and big shared courtyard). Our rent it under $1000/mo, and it includes heat and gas. Street parking is free, and has never been a problem.

Plus, like Regents, it's just easy. Move in/move out dates have been pretty flexible, the buildings are well managed, and I imagine you could sign a lease w/out having to come out to Chicago.

Thanks! I'll definitely be looking into this.

The Del Prado is awesome. I'd say maybe... 10 law students live there? The 171 goes straight to the law school from the Del Prado, and a 6 stop (to get downtown) is right outside the front door.

Same prices as regents or a bit more?

Edit: and since they're MAC as well, do they offer the law school discount? I assume they do not.

Does anyone remember the book that Professor Abebe recommended during the faculty panel? Someone didn't write it down...

Are you the kid that (very loudly) asked him to repeat the name of the book?

Yeah, no discount, but I think the prices are similar to Regents or a bit cheaper. Not sure how they compare to the remodeled rooms at Regents (everything in the Del Prado is new with stainless appliances, granite, etc.)

Hahaha that reminds me, I also got one of those last night at like 7:00pm. I had to try soooooo hard not to say anything about LST or their employment statistics.

Think they are struggling just a bit to fill seats?

I got it a few days ago. I just told the lady I already had put a seat deposit down at UVA. That shut it down pretty quickly. I didn't want her to waste her time, and that has to be a pretty sucky job.

I simply send such calls to voicemail in order not to waste their time and mine.

Not here....do we have a volunteer to call Kevin and ask him when we're getting decisions?

I'm comfortable enough giving them the stated 22nd to 26th range before panicking too much.
