I'm not sure if it's a good or a bad thing that there isn't material to review and only broad/general questions to consider.2014 wrote:Not hard at all, there are a ton of apartments here. E - Cab from Midway is like 30-35 bucks, I would just pony up. You can probably find a cab split on the way back.

I would say I hope I don't get called on because I'd get slaughtered, but I imagine that will become a fairly routine experience for me anyway if I do end up going to LS so nbd/yolo/etc.

Levmore's cold calls aren't bad actually, he is mostly going for common sense answers. He just uses you as the butt of somewhere between 1 and 5 jokes in the process and hilarity ensues.

By the way, I know that some of you current students mentioned that the reception on Thursday was one of those events that it would be okay to bring a spouse to... but what about the events after that? Does anyone ever bring their SO to the Regents thing, for example?

Bringing your SO is probably fair game at any social event over the weekend. I would probably leave them behind for all school stuff.

No one is going to tell you they shouldn't be there. The problem is that one of the whole points of being at ASW is to meet your future classmates. If you SO is at every social event, that is probably going to somewhat impede your ability to get to know everyone. I think if there are one or two things that your SO wants to attend, by all means bring them along, but try to balance the need to hang out with your SO and keep them entertained with the need to meet a bunch of people to help you get a sense of the school.WhiteyCakes wrote:When you say "All school stuff" does that include pizza?2014 wrote:Bringing your SO is probably fair game at any social event over the weekend. Has anyone contacted the admissions office to see what they recommend about guests?

So I'm actually getting in tomorrow evening - the flights were cheaper. If anyone is around downtown/north loop tomorrow night let me know, we can grab drinks or something.

I think you all should try to hang out and meet as many current students and admits as you can, TLSers or no. And just keep in mind that some people may not want to be outed in front of other people.Regulus wrote:No... but one of us probably should have.
I am still torn between Indian food and Regents on Thursday, but I think I am going to go to Regents if for nothing else just to chill with you current students from TLS. (I will pretty much be there for the socializing and appetizers because I don't drink. )
Anyway, it will be fun getting to finally see who everyone actually is. We're going to have lots of nerdy-sounding conversations this weekend like "OMFG, so you're WhiteyCakes!! It's me dude, Regulus!!"
I hope you all are excited to visit this week!

If anyone is getting in a day early (and this includes you), you're welcome to come down to HP and hang out. We're always good to hit the pub and play some pool.cwid1391 wrote:So I'm actually getting in tomorrow evening - the flights were cheaper. Are you going to try to attend a class or something on Thursday morning? McAdams' Crim Pro is awesome.cwid1391 wrote:So I'm actually getting in tomorrow evening - the flights were cheaper. If anyone is around downtown/north loop tomorrow night let me know, we can grab drinks or something.

Believe it or not I hadn't actually thought about that. I should do that. I'm going to the Cubs game Thursday afternoon, barring a downpour, and then will be back to campus for the reception, Regents party and bar review.Emma. wrote:Are you going to try to attend a class or something on Thursday morning? It'd be kind of a long day, but McAdams has class from 9:45-10:50 so it would give you plenty of time to get back up to Wrigley for the game. Or if you wanted to take a 1L class, both the 1L contracts sections are from 11-12:05.cwid1391 wrote:Believe it or not I hadn't actually thought about that. I should do that. If you do a 1L class Thursday do helmholz property at 945 or Morrison contracts at 11, they are probably each the better of the 2 sections.cwid1391 wrote:Believe it or not I hadn't actually thought about that. For the record I have no problem being outed...my TLS name is not designed for anonymity.
Regulus: for the good of all the UChi 0Ls, can you incorporate some kind of cat theme into your outfit so we can recognize you???

Should I email admissions ahead if I want to sit in on a class or can I just show up tomorrow?

This is my Thursday plan to a T. We should Catch the El from Wrigley down to the school together. You still thinking bleachers?cwid1391 wrote: I'm going to the Cubs game Thursday afternoon, barring a downpour, and then will be back to campus for the reception, Regents party and bar review.

I actually just picked up an infield seat for $15. These are two seats beside me if anyone wants to claim them, but I think they have to be sold as a pair. Hopefully this link worksnaw wrote:This is my Thursday plan to a T. We should Catch the El from Wrigley down to the school together. I'd still be down to meet up after the game and head to campus together.
