Haha well we're all gonna be at the same school next year so if I'm godly then you are too. I'm so excited to be at Chicago next year...getting the Ruby so I had no doubts about attending has been my top goal since the beginning of this cycle.Regulus wrote:lol yeah.... ColeWorld has been one of those dots I'd see on LSN and just be like "damn" because he is so far at the top right of every graph that it was almost depressing. The new LSN has helped alleviate my depression a little bit because they bumped the max LSAT up to 182 so he doesn't look quite as godly anymore.ChampagnePapi wrote:Shit just got realColeWorld wrote:Checking in...looking forward to meeting everybody at ASW!
Also I'll probably be living in Regents so looks like I'll be joining at least a couple of you there.

Our brains will overheat from arguing about ideas all day. We have to periodically stick our heads in water to be safe -- hence the reflecting pool right outside the school.

Checking in here.
Sorry, i haven't started looking at my packet yet/have not received it yet:
1) Do they pay/subsidize for transportation costs for ASW?
2) Is anyone else worried about the incredible cold and wind of Chicago? I visited once for four days and almost died.

Is anyone else worried about the unbelievable cost of housing in Chicago? I just went from planning a quiet little life in Lexington, VA (W&L) with low rent to being like when I looked at the apartment prices in Chicago.

Look at NYC for a few minutes, it will calm you down.talesofyore wrote:Is anyone else worried about the unbelievable cost of housing in Chicago? I just went from planning a quiet little life in Lexington, VA (W&L) with low rent to being like when I looked at the apartment prices in Chicago.

But during that time you can stick your head in a snow bank.2014 wrote:It's drained most of the school yearbanjo wrote:Our brains will overheat from arguing about ideas all day. We have to periodically stick our heads in water to be safe -- hence the reflecting pool right outside the school.

My rent last year was $300, this year I'm paying ~triple that. It's a shock but it's doable.talesofyore wrote:Is anyone else worried about the unbelievable cost of housing in Chicago? you are not alone, here is someone originally from Singapore... the first winter in the midwest was bad, took me a month or so to figure out winter clothes did not equal to 6 or 7 layers of T-shirts...

Idk how Hyde Park is, but the NU campus is right off the lake and the wind in the winter makes things so much worse. You think snow is nbd until that wind starts kicking in and you have a million special snowflakes cutting your face like razor blades.

Either stay with a student for free or use Groupon for something downtown.

If y'all aren't bringing SOs, I'd highly recommend staying with a student. If not, some hotel downtown. Not the HP Ramada.Dany wrote:Yeah, I was going to say - the Hilton rate isn't some super amazing discount and IIRC it was still pretty pricey. It's not worth waiting on; if you're going to stay in a hotel just go ahead and book when you want to.
