Right now I'm planning to stay with a student. But I'm waiting to see what Hilton will charge because I'd rather have my own room for the weekendWhiteyCakes wrote:Where you staying Papi?ChampagnePapi wrote:Just bought my ticket for ASW!

Re: Chicago Law Class of 2016
I really recommend staying with a student. What I found most helpful about ASWs was talking to current students, and that gives you another connection there. I don't know how many people end up attending from ASW, but it's more important and helpful to talk to students that actually attend UChicago to get a sense of the school.
But if you don't care about any of that and just want to party or whatever, then by all means get a hotel

I will be hosting people over ASW, you all can only hope you get so lucky as to be assigned to me
Reg I will ask a friend who went to ASW last year how many matriculated and let you know. The EDers all eventually identified themselves apparently so that helps meeting people you know will be classmates.

Re: Chicago Law Class of 2016
The rate at the Hilton last year still seemed pretty pricey and you can definitely find something cheaper in the Loop.reallysearch wrote:The link isn't up yet.WhiteyCakes wrote:Has anyone found information on what the discounted Hilton rate is for ASW? I'm not sure whether it is worth it to plan on that or search elsewhere. Honestly I wouldn't even know where to start since I am clueless about Chicago
Usually when I visit Chicago, priceline seems to be a good place to look for hotels. I used their "name your own price" option pretty often. Look for hotels near "Millennium Park, Loop & Grant Park Area" (Hilton Chicago is in that area too)
a related question, since the ASW is from Thursday to Saturday, anyone interested in hanging out on Sunday?

Yeah, I was going to say - the Hilton rate isn't some super amazing discount and IIRC it was still pretty pricey. It's not worth waiting on; if you're going to stay in a hotel just go ahead and book when you want to.

Has anyone received their student login information for the admitted students website? Thanks!

it was generic enough that paranoid me thought they had sent me an admissions e-mail on accidentRegulus wrote:Yes.... it was a very generic user ID and password, and I wouldn't be surprised if everyone got the same one.PopTorts13 wrote:Has anyone received their student login information for the admitted students website? Good PSA....you said Regents was on a wait-list right now, right?Regulus wrote:Just received my admitted student package in the mail today!!! I live about 5 hours from Chicago, so those of you who are close by will probably have something too.
Nothing about scholarship or anything, of course, but I won't likely be receiving any of that anyway because of my numbers.
They noted that the class of 2016 will have 185 students.
Also, getting back to the "what makes Regents so great?" question, the Class of 2016 Admitted Students Handbook had some information showing where students for the classes of 2013/2014/2015 live, and a large portion lived in Regents. I've posted the information on the first page in my post about Regents, but I will share the map here as well for reference:

Anyone else notice the USC logo prominently displayed front and center on some guy's shirt on the cover of Chicago's yearbook? Chicago just earned some major brownie points with this guy
