Yeah I jumped the gun on that one. We're gonna know a little less about contracts now. What's up with tuition being due 7/29 - when do our loans disburse? I thought it was sometime around the beginning of Orientation

High fives to section five! Bunch of us tls-ers in it. Another excuse to grab drinks when we're all in DC?

As well, I'm not on facebook, so I won't be able to join the section page, but tell everyone that a crazy canadian says hey eh! :P

Woohoo! This section is stacked haha! We're definitely gonna have to do a TLSers of Section 5 get-together. Furthermore, I was checking out our profs on Ratemyprof, and I think we're in for a really good time. Some of our profs are pretty epic. As well, I read the Georgetown 2015 class thread, and one guys said this
Sure. 1L year you'll have no choice (besides the 3-hour spring elective or, if you're in Section 3/Curriculum B, you'll pretty much know who you're getting, from what I understand). But the legendary profs include Spann (Contracts) and Gottesman (Property). New to the school (but a huge win) is Irv Gornstein (30 years at DOJ Civil Rights and SG's office, argued 36 SCOTUS cases, including several in the casebook we used for CrimPro). He's probably the best professor I've had (ever, at any level). Others with a good reputation include Nina Pillard, Abernathy, Cole, Bloch... but there are so many. There are lots of reviews on ratemyprof; however, I think they're a bit hard on Spann - I didn't do terribly well in his class, but he's a phenomenal professor - probably taught my section more about "how to think like a lawyer" than any other prof we had this year (and he had tough competition on that front).
We have Spann teaching Contracts and Gottesman teaching Torts. As well, 1 out of 3 peops will have Gornstein for Con Law I. Pretty cool!

From ASW:
"Financial Aid: If the Financial Aid Office determines that you are eligible to receive financial aid, it will appear on your bill under Memo Items until actual funds are received. Once all requirements for the disbursement of your financial aid funds have been met, the Memo Items will become actual credits on your bill at the start of each semester and excess funds will be available in the form of a refund to assist you with your living expenses. This will not occur before the start of classes, at the earliest."

I guess it's more of an issue for students who won't be utilizing financial aid, or who will not be covering the full cost of tuition with financial aid. Though the rest of us certainly need to make sure everything about the tuition bill and aid funds are in order by that date.

Just a heads-up, I noticed that some profs have posted text requirements for the fall - http://apps.law.georgetown.edu/curricul ... ourses.cfm

In case you don't mind buying Used from Amazon, you can get them while they are probably cheapest - I would think the prices will go up the closer we get to Sept.

Sec 4 only has one up, although 2/3 of the Contracts options are Ayres 8th ed. Obv I ordered it since those odds are awesome.

I was about half a second away from ordering the constitutional law books until I realized all 3 teachers for section 5 had different books listed. I guess there's no chance of us finding out who we'll have before orientation? I don't really want to wait until right before class starts because 1) I don't want there to be some shipping issue where I don't have the book until mid-September and 2) I'd rather buy it from Amazon and save a few bucks.

Section 3 has all up but Bargain, Exchange, and Liability & the Legal Justice Seminar.

Though it seems I'm the only TLSer that took the S3 plunge.

BEL and Justice didn't have books last year. Just electronic packets which can be printed on demand once you get to school, if you prefer paper.

Another way to find out which texts your profs might use is to search Gulliver for what they've previously put on reserve:

http://gull.georgetown.edu/

Just do a last name search and their courses will come up

Out of curiosity, who are the §3 professors this year?

Hmm, sometimes the restricted access pages deny me, then when I hit the back button after being denied, the page loads. I feel like a boomer. Anyway, I can't get this one to work - does Glover/Feldman have anything up?

Seriously? What are you waiting for?
