penalty for minimum contacts with the kicker
stiff long-arm statute
basketball would be way easier

Draft will be held during orientation week at a site TBD. Thinking about a $100 buy-in. Would that be chill for everyone or possibly more/less?

$100 would be at the upper limit of what I'd be cool with... If people aren't ok with that I'd rather lower it to whatever we need to get 12 peopleFlowBro wrote:Draft will be held during orientation week at a site TBD. Thinking about a $100 buy-in. Will student loans cover the buy in?FlowBro wrote:Draft will be held during orientation week at a site TBD. Thinking about a $100 buy-in. Would that be chill for everyone or possibly more/less?
I'd prefer lower buy-ins because I don't actually want to spend quality time on this during 1l. 2 and 3l I'll be a fantasy football gunner though

$100 sounds good to me. My experience is that if there aren't any stakes then people are too casual about just putting their teams on auto-pilot.FlowBro wrote:Draft will be held during orientation week at a site TBD. Re: Northwestern Class of 2016
I mean, theoretically I'm fine with that buy-in, but right now I don't have $100 to spend in gas to SoCal and back, so what are the chances I'll have any money once school starts?
Also, I have never played fantasy football (only basketball) and I feel my learning curve will be impacted by, you know, that thing we're doing in Chicago.

I'm 100% in for a Fantasy Keeper League. I'd host a kegger at my place for a live draft if people are up for it.FlowBro wrote:+180PBateman1 wrote:$100 sounds good to me. I've never done keeper, but isn't standard you can keep like 2 people by giving up your draft pick in the round you originally got them?

Class of 2015 has a keeper league and that's how we're doing it, although I think we're giving up a draft pick from the round before you drafted the player, that way you can't keep 1st rounders.Cobretti wrote:I've never done keeper, but isn't standard you can keep like 2 people by giving up your draft pick in the round you originally got them?

Re: Northwestern Class of 2016
I think $50 would be better. At $20 the rate of people who give up after a few losses will be too high. Or maybe we could have profs in on this... If you stop managing, cold called, immediately everyday that week.

We'll also need a secondary competition to determine draft order.
As an aside, Ruxin and Kevin from FX's "The League" are both lawyers and Northwestern alumni so, like, I'm sure that this is hugely significant in some way.

Did they say Kevin went there too? I know Ruxin said he did. And I say we after party at Gibson's as soon as the draft is donecookiejar1 wrote:We'll also need a secondary competition to determine draft order.
