I like how this entire page is mostly just the 3 of us plus a 2015-er in rinkrat.

i'm assuming it will fill up as more decisions come out hopefully.

The facebook group already has like 40 members. I'm waiting for them to allow me in but wondering if it's going towait until I get the NU email address.

+1. When i first put in the request they didn't add anybody for awhile but now i watch that number keep getting bigger while I am still waiting.

Yeah, I hear the group admin is pretty cool. There are instructions in the group description in case it's not approved within a day or so.

In the e-mail it lists which of the three items are due either by March 1 or ASAP if admitted after then. I think the FAFSA is the only thing that has to be in by March 1 regardless.

For those that did the NeedAccess forms- did you just ask your parents questions at every page? I'm trying to find a list of every question I am going to need to ask my parents. This seems like a really shitty way of doing this.

I created a login in for my parents attached to my NeedAccess application and then emailed them the user name, password, and security questions and instructions how to change the password. This allowed them to do it while maintaining some financial privacy.

Frankly, it irritates me thatas a 31 year old married father of two some schools still force me to pester my parents about their financial situation. I think Duke and Columbia are the schools which require parental information regardless...

admitted a few weeks ago in late jan, very excited for the april ASW and to check out northwestern/chicago for the first time! got my admit portfolio yesterday, definitely in shock at the prices of a simple studio but i've heard streeterville is a really nice area so i suppose thats justification

the essays were a TOTAL bitch. the first one wasn't so bad but the second felt really awkward/unnatural

wait awk i dont think i got any information about setting up an NU email, i'll have to scour back through their mailings (though most of them were duplicates!)

also i joined the NU class of 2016 fb group, has no one posted anything on it? seemed a bit strange that the only posts were from the admins (same stuff thats written in the description of the group)

i haven't gotten an e-mail account yet either. id just be patient (i know its hard). the group probably hasn't accepted your request to join yet (again me either). Once you have your e-mail account you'll just e-mail one of the admins from it.

and yeah streeterville is expensive. i personally will be living west of school for both that reason and that i like some other neighborhoods better See you in Chicago hopefully.

oh i know, it took forever but i finally was accepted to join the fb page after i canceled my request and resubmitted multiple times so they'd get a new notification (#needy haha) but yeah after i was given access to the page i realized no one had posted anything and i was like hmmm back to TLS!

Just finished the supplemental financial aid application. The fact that it was delivered via an online survey tool kind of cheapened the process. I don't know if that was intentional or not. In any case, I treated the questions seriously and answered both with just under 500 words. It was kind of pain copy and pasting into the character-limited text boxes. . .

I already completed the Need Access forms and FAFSA info so I'm just assuming that everything is in order. Supposedly I'll receive an email notifying that my financial aid application is "complete." So there's that!

It's probably a self-selection process, whereby those mostly likely to join the FB group quickly are those still in college checking FB every 10 seconds, but the current cross-section seems to have a lot of K-12s in that group...

when I asked the admin committee how I could put my deposit online, they immediately sent back my NetID and pwdz

I got a "complete email" almost immediately. Maybe one or two days after submitting my application.
