Anyone else receive a complete email? I finished beginning of feb, but haven't heard anything. I called the admissions office and they confirmed they had my Need Access, but they couldn't check for my FAFSA. That has me worried because materials were due Fri.

Admitted today! Still waiting to hear from a lot of schools, but Northwestern is near the top of my list, and I definitely appreciate that they got back to me so quickly (went complete ~2 weeks ago).

Wish I could be there, but a measley $150 travel stipend doesn't account for an 800-1200 (fudging) mile voyage when I'm going to need every cent I have and more for the tuition deposits. $500 plane tickets aside, even if I drove I'd be looking at $200+ in gas in addition to two nights of city hotel prices.
Ah well, c'est la vie. Y'all have fun now, you hear?

We should pick one hotel and make it the unofficial NU ASW hotel. Anyone from Chicago have any recommendations?

There is the option of staying with a current student for two nights. Also don't think there was any travel stipend last year so we're trying!

So now a choice has to be made. ASW, or Macklemore concert that I already bought a ticket to.

Has anyone been able to get the NU rate at a hotel for April ASW? I've called two hotels on the list and neither of them had a Northwestern Rate.

I'm gonna try Priceline bid or airbnb. NU rate doesn't sound that cheap

Both times I came to ASW (the last two years), I got my hotel rooms packaged with my plane ticket. I think once I got the package through Alaska Airlines and once on Travelocity. Just search around. I've stayed at the Inn of Chicago and The Millennium Knickerbocker. Both are older hotels so the rooms are small but they're nice inside, and I caught good deals. Red Roof Inn is inexpensive (tiny rooms, not super nice). All three are nearby.

Y'all could also bunk up together and share a hotel room with another TLSer. I know people who've done that.

Anyone else without a great deal of significant WE trying to figure out how big a role this plays in OCIs?

I have this fear that the young ones are crowded out in favor of those with big time WE.

The earliest mandatory event we have all week is on Thursday, the morning after our mixer at a bar. Probably their, not so subtle, way of telling us not to get drunk

I didn't get this impression at all. There are too few of us for that distinction to be made. I also think there is a reason the K-JDs they admit are the select few.

I actually enjoy taking the MBTI because it gives me an opportunity to judge everyone

Seriously? What are you waiting for?
