Don't do it!! I'm resisting the urge too. Just wait for Lawnet to go live tomorrow! Hold on, does anyone know if people actually use Lawnet?beepboopbeep wrote:Ugh, y'all motherfuckers gonna make me reactivate facebook to know what you're talking about.

Omg I forgot about Lawnet tomorrow! So excited. I think students have to use it for administrative type baloney, whether people actually use it for social networking, I highly doubt.tonton wrote:Don't do it!! I'm resisting the urge too. There are a million reasons why I should be the easiest to pick out. Looking at my first posts, I had no concept of withholding identifiable information.helix23 wrote:I think I got at least one of you figured out

Checking in again. I didn't think I was going to get any money from Columbia so I was going to put down a deposit at UVA. I got my offer from Columbia on Friday though and I am so excited to be joining you guys!

Re: Columbia Class of 2016
To add on to info about housing:
I just talked to Juliana (who is super nice and if you have any questions you should really just call her 212-854-2343)
and I asked the question about law school vs UAH. She said if you don't request law school housing you will not be placed in law school housing. Also, (I'm applying as a couple so this might not apply for everyone) but she said I'd probably be better off doing UAH rather than law school housing as she said UAH typically offers more sq ft at a lower cost although you might be a little farther from campus. To me saving a few hundo a month is worth it to have to walk a little more to get to school.
Hope that helps!

That's a shame. Looks nice and for a good price, compared to Law School Housing at leastKingFish wrote:Someone on here said that the "shuttle" from Arbor to school is horrible. That's all I know.learntolift wrote:Thoughts on the Arbor?

I posted this on the Columbia 1L thread, but I think they're too busy with finals to spend time on TLS.
Have any of you received your financial aid decision after you submitted your seat deposit? I haven't heard anything from the FAO yet, and I'm worried that I'll be forfeiting any grant aid if I enroll by tomorrow.

You should call the finaid office tomorrow. From what I've gathered, however, need is need. Outside of Butler/Hamilton, they review the financial information to determine, relative to the rest of the class, if you need money and how much. All you'll forfeit is the ability to not like the number and go somewhere else.

The admissions office told me that my seat deposit is automatically extended if I haven't received my financial aid decision by tomorrow. Call them and ask.smdpnp wrote:I posted this on the Columbia 1L thread, but I think they're too busy with finals to spend time on TLS.

Hey everybody! Just paid my deposit after Stanford happily ended my cycle on April 30th. Very, very excited to head to Morningside Heights this fall!

Am I correct in thinking that 116th is only studios and one bedrooms? I'm basing my assumption off of this:
420 West 116th Street has both furnished and unfurnished studio/efficiency and one-bedroom apartments, with Ethernet.

Re: Columbia Class of 2016
I ended up depositing before receiving my financial aid package which was risky but thankfully it did ended up working out. I got it a few days later and it was far more generous than even I expected.smdpnp wrote:I posted this on the Columbia 1L thread, but I think they're too busy with finals to spend time on TLS.
