Housing available in D.C (NW)

Postby cjstudent » Sat Jun 23, 2012 2:18 pm

We are two rising 3Ls (Gabriel and Cassie) at American University Washington College of Law renting a beautiful house with 3 more rooms to fill. The house is huge with a kitchen, walk-in pantry, living room with a fireplace, dining room, sunroom, 5 bedrooms, a nice large basement, a small garage, and 2.5 bathrooms. We have free washer and dryer in the basement, central air/heat, and a dishwasher. There's also a front porch, front yard, back deck, and back yard.

The new lease starts August 1st, but a few of our summer sublettors are interested in staying a little bit longer and you might be able to work out a mid-August start with them. The total rent for the house is $4,050 per month, and the house has 5 bedrooms. One of the bedrooms is smaller than the others and in the past all the roommates have decided to discount the small room. If we do the same thing again, the larger rooms would cost $827.50 per month plus utilities and the small room would cost $740 per month plus utilities.

The house is in Friendship Heights near the corner of Connecticut and Nebraska. We are close to Friendship Heights metro, Tenleytown metro, restaurants, a fantastic bookstore/cafe, Safeway, Whole Foods, CVS, bus lines, and really anything you might need. We have 1 parking spot available. The house is furnished but the rooms are not. However, we are still in touch with our now graduated roommates and they might be willing to sell some of their furniture at a reasonable price.

Our landlady is great. She has never tried to rip us off and fixes problems promptly.

No smoking
No pets

We have both really enjoyed living here so far, it's truly a great place. Both of us are working in other parts of the country at the moment, but if you are attending the housing conference, we are trying to set up an open house that our departing roommates will host so that people can come and look at the house.

Please be in touch with any questions or for information about the house or about us.

Cassie and Gabe
