I hear you, man! I've got three weeks left at my job then I'm straight kicking it until I head out to Chambana.

Is anyone else in this thread from the East Coast?

I don't think career services is lying. Maybe what's up there now is not the correct list. But it's definitely not last years list. The employers are different and they are scheduled on different days. Here is what is up right now for those who are curious. I tried to list just the big firms. This is what is listed as 2012 OCI and the dates are 2012, so if it's wrong then it was mislabeled:

Aug 14
Brinks Hofer Gilson & Lione (IP only)
Drinker Biddle
Husch Blackwell
Ice Miller
Jones Day
K&L Gates
Leydig (IP)
Morgan Lewis
Perkins Coie
Reed Smith
Schiff Hardin
Taft
Troutman Sanders
Vedder Price
Winston & Strawn

Aug 15
Baker & McKenzie
Chapman & Cutler
Dykema
Greenberg Traurig
Holland & Knight
Jenner & Block
Marshall Gerstein (IP)
MWE
MBHB (IP)
McGuire Woods
Thompson Coburn

Aug 16
Bryan Cave
Foley & Lardner
Katten
Knobbe (IP)
Locke Lord
Mayer Brown
Sidley

Aug 27
Kirkland

Where did you find all these? Can you provide a link to the respective webpage.

got my football ticket (voucher). I went with the regular option, and not the block one. I figured I would have the opportunity to party during the tailgating, and I could actually chill and watch the game when kick off rolls around. Plus, I really want to bring a few friends and family to the games, and vouchers make that seem more possible, since students can redeem the vouchers for tickets and just trade them around. So, my plan is to have my Dad, and maybe even two brothers go to a game, and then another brother go to another game, and then 2-3 friends at another. So, if anyone is wanting to some trading (or selling), let me know.

Cool dude! Let us know how the town is. I'll be getting in mid-august, and my roommate will be there at the beginning of august.

If you're anywhere where the average highs are below the mid 90s, be glad you're not currently in Champaign. It's hot as hell here.

I'm an about 90 minutes away now, so the weather won't be much of an adjustment. Yeah, it's pretty damn hot.

Not pleasant. TBF though, the whole midwest has been like this lately. I'll say that the temps can be noticeably warmer around here than Chicago's though.

Hi all congrats on getting into Illinois I enjoyed my time there but decided to head back east closer to my home markets.

Basically I'm trying to sublet my place, its with 3 other law students, nice apartment, on green street, and rent is 380 plus utilities which avg somewhere like 75 per according tot he guys who lived there previously. I was pretty psyched when we got it because the landlord slashed rent from 500 per that the other guys were paying.

Also I have some furniture I'm trying to get rid of, nice mattress, ikea hemnes bedframe, desk and dresser.

Let me know if your interested would like more pics info etc. again congratulations! Also if anyone wants some advice with regards to the school in general feel free to PM for that.

Yeah, Dean Smith sent out an email about it yesterday. Doesn't seem nearly as bad as it could have been IMO

Didn't know there was more fallout coming from this issue. Also didn't know that they were going to have to end the ileap program, though that makes sense (not sure if that was new or old info). The fine seems relatively small, considering endowment and such.

Only thing that sucks about this is reawakening the scandal right before OCI kicks off

I had genuinly forgotten about all this and moved on - I assume most employers had too.

I heard books would be expensive but dang. $180 textbook. :|

Congrats lawbug! Not sure about specific apartments, but check out the admitted students site and the housing forum on it for some options. Lots of people go with The Village, in case you hadn't heard that, but I think they do some roommate matching thing so 1bdrms might not be an option. Not sure.

Have 1L's already received their class schedules?

Yup. Just this week.
