0L Summer
Anyone doing anything interesting with your last summer of freedom? I'm currently debating quitting my FT job a month early to relax in July...also reading lots of non law related books and hopefully spending time outside before being relegated to the crappy Midwest winters again.

Re: 0L Summer
I'm pretty curious about what others are planning to do. I'm planning to stick it out until June at my job and then take off for Europe/South America/SW Amurrica's National Parks/somewhere I can have adventures. I've heard that 1L year is godawful so I want to make sure I'm in good shape mentally to beast it.

I work for a data entry company and while it wasn't *as* dramatic as I made it seem above....it's still pretty crappy. Basically he demanded I give him a firm end date once he found out (a few weeks back) which I gave him (in late May, giving me a summer in Europe or whatever along with time to tie up any loose ends and train my replacement) which he abruptly changed to a week from now right after he heard (implying that I either leave then or he fires me that day). I'm probably going to find myself an internship on the Hill and just take it easy since I live in DC.citygirl000 wrote:Lvaughn714 wrote:for real? what was your job??? Same, though work knows. I'm either doing an Eastern Europe trip or a US roadtrip - depending on finances.kennethellenparcell wrote:I'm pretty curious about what others are planning to do. I secretly hate you...so do you get paid through the summer even though you aren't coming back the next year? Or do you just wait and quit later?wskbarrett wrote:I'm a teacher...summer = free paid vacay

Working till the day I have to pack and move...like somewhere around August 15th - 20th. Need to cover expenses of moving to Cal. from NY. I told my manager last summer that I would be leaving for law school. She was fine with that.

I'm quitting my current job a few weeks after I graduate. My lease is up in June, then I am moving back home with the parents.
I plan on golfing a ton to stay out of their way.

You need to distinguish between being fired and getting laid off. By "Funemployment" I assume you mean you got laid off, and are allowed to file for unemployment benefits.rad lulz wrote:File for unemployment.justicefishy wrote:Funemployment. Conversely, being fired means you don't get unemployment benefits.
