considering pretty strongly given the in-state cost

In-state as well. I'm just wondering how much tuition is going to go up by this academic year? Mid $19,000/year is awesome but I doubt tuition is going to stay below $20,000 this year.

No one brought me a beer, but I did manage to get my hands on a tuna salad meal, cookies, and a diet iced tea. It is really great how much free food you can get your hands on in law school.

Hope everyone had fun today!

Same! Extremely excited, yet scared of law school/being jobless...but still :D . I'm sending my deposit in on Monday.

Which neighborhoods are you looking at? I'm thinking about Fairmount/Art Museum, or anything close to the subway. Somewhere close and safe would do the trick. There was a little bit of discussion regarding apartments on the Facebook group page if you're interested.

I'm glad I'm not the only one! I'm looking in those areas as well as center city, northern liberties and a little bit in university city. mainly places a few blocks from the broad street line. I did see some of that convo on the facebook page, are you looking for roommates or solo living?

I'm undecided at the moment. I'm coming straight from undergrad so I've had roommates for the past 4 years and some of them have been not so good. Thought about living alone for the first year but after looking at single room apartment prices in Fairmount/Art Museum I think I would definitely need to get one or two roommates to get the cost per person down to $~550-700.

I am also going to start to look for roommates and places but it is a but hard as I am out of the area until July. I am would be looking for one or two roommates probably in the art museum, south philly (near Italian market passyunk sq.), grad hospital or ,fishtown /no. lib. areas. I would also be willing to look at other areas but I would like to be able to bike and not not spend more than 600$ a month.

Not sure if its normal but I know they dont do award letters until after you deposited. They may have posted the letter in the webportal or perhaps it will be coming in the mail.

I figured i'd join in on the discuss as I'm about 85% sure that i'll be at Temple in the fall. I submitted my deposit last week and barring some freak scholarship from a waitlist school, I expect to be at Temple.

Just to address some of the housing topics that were mentioned earlier, I've been living in Philly for 3 years now (working since finishing college in '09) and I have lived in some of the Northwest Philly neighborhoods (previously Roxborough/Manayunk and currently East Falls) and I would definitely recommend it. Other than being slightly less popular among law students than Center City, it is significantly cheaper and more pleasant, in my opinion, than Center City, U City or Northern Liberties. Plus with all Norristown Line Regional Rail trains stopping at Temple, it takes a whopping 8-10 minutes to get from my station to Temple.

Just thought i'd throw that out there.

Just in case there are any Temple TLSers that aren't in the facebook group, we are having a happy hour for any incoming Temple Law students already living in Philly at McGillin's, 13th and Drury, on May 10th at 6pm.
