I was planning to send emails that simply say "Please withdraw my JD application from consideration". Maybe that's too gruff? I'm not sure of the etiquette (if etiquette even exists for this kind of thing).

I'm mass-emailing mine on Friday. I'll probably use similar wording, Danny. Honestly, who cares how they take it? :)

Congratulations, guys! I'll be around if you have any questions!

As far as withdrawal emails, you can just do a quick one that says you withdraw your application. I might give a reason like "I have been accepted under binding Early Decision to the University of Chicago" so that it's clear you need your app to be withdrawn ASAP, but short and sweet is fine.

Do 1Ls typically get housing through the University?

I know a couple classmates who live in grad housing, but the vast majority just get apartments (most in Hyde Park, but some up north.) I think if you want university grad housing, it's not hard to get.

I realize I'm obsessing, but has anyone given any thought to housing?

Are people planning on finding roommates and splitting a 2BR, or just going with a studio? Grad housing vs. Regents?

It seems to me like Regents has pretty nice apartments, plus their garage could be nice, because I'm considering bringing my car. I'm a little worried about the high rent though, which is why I am curious about the roommate deal. On the other hand, I'm not sure how ideal it'd be to pick a roommate without really getting to know them.

A ton of people live in Regents. I don't, so I won't try to comment on it, but they generally say good things. I especially think Regents is great for the first few weeks when everyone's trying to get to know everyone else, as living there (probably) makes it easier to meet people.

As for a roommate, I know at least some people met future roommates through ASW. Everyone at Chicago rocks anyway, so if you're comfortable having a roommate in the first place, there's not much to worry about.

I plan on living in Regents. It's three times what the max I've ever paid for a place is, but they look nice. If my SO doesn't move out with me I plan on finding a roommate.
