Uh right? They also told me they misplaced my check (false) and asked me to send another one. So hopefully people will read the note on my file that says "DONT CASH THE OTHER CHECK"daydreamer wrote:Thanks, glad to know it's not just me. I hope they cash it soon.catholicgirl wrote:In the same boat.daydreamer wrote:So on my status checker it indicates that I have paid my seat deposit, however, they have yet to cash it. Is anyone else experiencing this problem, or were your checks cashed right away? Are they waiting until September to cash the checks?

Crickets chirping
So has anyone gotten information about where to send medical records etc? Or is all of that going to be in that super informational email we should be receiving soon?

Still nothing. Kind of surprising, but whatever - I guess the year does start later than most law schools. Also, congrats to all the ex-members of c/o 2015 who are going to Harvard!catholicgirl wrote:Crickets chirping

I just keep panicking every time I see unchecked boxes on Chicago's application status. I end up going, "GLASS MENAGERIE?!!! WHEN WE WERE SUPPOSED TO TURN THIS IN?!" and then search the admitted students website in a frenzy like a manic squirrel on PCP.
Clearly, it's summer and I have no productive outlets for my type A personality.

So I did a few fun activities on that list, just created my gmail and such. I noticed some of the other links were dead and though I have my gmail set up, any emails I send to it get returned with an error message that UChicago blocked it.ringo wrote:Still haven't received anything, but the info is now online: --LinkRemoved--
I'm guessing some of the links are dead for everyone (thus why they haven't sent the email yet), no?
Also anyone else do the xmail instead of gmail? Does it make any real difference?

And joy of joys, can't activate my CNET I.D because admissions has not sent over my info yet. Super grumpy.

I got an email directing me to that link. So I suppose that counts as the informational email?

Re: University of Chicago Class of 2015
Checking in! Officially withdrew from all other schools and will be attending UofC in September. I'm going down there this Friday to check some places out. It looks like Del Prado is the hot spot this year so I'll definitely look into it. I'm new to the whole apartment searching thing.. any suggestions as to how to go about it?? Should I just drive around, find an agent, use a website, something else?
I'm still in shock from reading my acceptance letter last week but this is getting real!! I look forward to meeting you all!

Has anyone received an official loan award email yet? I filled out all the fun paper-work late April and the site FAQ says that an "email should come to you 3-6 weeks after submission."

Congrats to everyone making the U of C decision. Be sure to fill out those Promissory Notes to get your (Un)Subsidized and DirectPLUS loans! Anyone else find the "counseling" quiz to be about as rote as possible?

The counseling quiz became about six times faster as soon as I figured out the answer was always either 'true' or 'all of the above.' Tremendously rote.

Checking in!
I tried to withdraw earlier this week, and they responded by offering me a Ruby. Totally unexpected... but too incredible to pass up. So excited to be joining you all in Chicago this September.

Same numbers and I'm so tempted to try this it's not funny. I wish I hadn't withdrawn from other places already.curiouscat wrote:Checking in!

Ahaha now there'd be a risky play. I wouldn't advise it man, I also withdrew from UChi for HLS - I had been given $90k at Chi like curiouscat had initially, but in response to my withdrawal email they replied "Hello xxx - Your application has been withdrawn." haha looks like they weren't quite as sad to see me go.

TBF, if they spent even an iota of time lurking TLS they knew who you were and how badly you wanted HLS.Mista Bojangles wrote: Ahaha now there'd be a risky play. Re: University of Chicago Class of 2015
Fair point, I was pretty vocal about HLS and probably revealed enough to out myself (at least to adcomms) several times over, so that definitely wouldn't have taken them very much homework - still, as set as I am on HLS, I would have had to take a reallllly serious step back and reevaluate if I had a Ruby thrown at me. Pretty sure curiouscat is making the right choice here. Congrats!Mad Hatter wrote:TBF, if they spent even an iota of time lurking TLS they knew who you were and how badly you wanted HLS.Mista Bojangles wrote: Ahaha now there'd be a risky play.
