Im getting a LOT of partying in Aug 15-20! I think of it as a bar tour of ithaca... its the responsible thing to do
Go to one bar a night and you can make the bar tour last that whole time!

Well, I hope Cornell's image changes to at least more "laid back" student body

it will never be more laid back.

Palms is gone so there isn't an excuse to drink (ruloff's is super lame).

the breakfast sandwiches at ctb suck, i think they use better than eggs or something.

last winter wasn't cold so this one will probably be snowmaggedon.

the medians will only go down, everyone smart enough to bring them up decided to not go to law school.

i look forward to watching all of your souls get slowly crushed.

I'm mostly kidding about the above. I look forward to meeting whoever wants to say whats up. I have no idea when I will be there but feel free to send me a pm or whatever.

Pro tip: Get other law students to join an intramural sport with you. this made 1L way more fun for me.

That's cute.

Fair. I guess law school attendance is pretty much the opposite of a 12-step program

Law school actually reigned my drinking in, honestly. It was only my breakup that increased it tenfold.

has anyone been able to:

1) set up direct deposit for financial aid through the bursar,

or

2) sign the promissory note for a perkins loan?

both are giving me errors still. i intend to call, but shit, i always think to do so sometime after 2pm here in california.

1) have not tried yet
2) same thing... I called fin aid and they said they have not "opened" it yet so that is why it comes back as error

1) Is this signing the document for the bursar on the new students 'to do list?'
2) When I talked to fin. aid they said that they will email us when the promissory note is available.

1) Haven't tried
2) I believe on the "how to" financial aid email we got about a month ago it says that the promissory note for the perkins loan won't be available until early August. And, yeah, that they'd email us when it was.

Actually no! I'll look into the group.

On another note, anyone submitted a photo for their ID? Anyone have any suggestions as to how to do this best? Do we have to do it via the new student 'to do list' thing?

Speaking of the new student 'to do list', how much of that applies to us? I feel like I'm way behind on figuring some of these things out. Obviously most of the deadlines have passed.

i'm pretty sure all of it does, since we're doing the grad/professional student one. a lot of it is optional, and the rest of it's pretty easy honestly. if you've done all the health forms and such, you're fine. that was the only time-consuming thing on there i thought.

chucky, i submitted my picture without any problem. i did it through the checklist.

https://newstudents.cornell.edu/grad/

it's all on there, just login with your net id and go to the checklist, then look at the "Student ID Card Request" part.

Ah, okay. I keep accidentally ending up on the undergrad one somehow and being like, wait.... what is all this?

Yeah. Yup. It's insane. I have no idea when I was diagnosed with chicken pox. The best I can do is the year.
