What's up with Cornell's financial aid? Do they give scholly offers? I've only gotten my admittance letter, and that's it.

No, I sent an e-mail asking about this to fin aid. They said they start sending offers the first week of Marchlightswitch wrote:What's up with Cornell's financial aid? Do they give scholly offers? I've only gotten my admittance letter, and that's it.
I got the really awesome book about 3-4 weeks after the lettercactuarX3 wrote:I heard there was some kind of awesome viewbook or something that they sent admitted students. I just got the official letter in the mail from them and didn't see anything like that. Do they send more than one mailing?
I might... and I know that you are certainly welcome to brings guests.sf88 wrote:I just got accepted today Are people bringing guests to ASW?
They were officially released on March 14 last year, if I remember correctly?msblaw89 wrote:I might... and I know that you are certainly welcome to brings guests.sf88 wrote:I just got accepted today Are people bringing guests to ASW?
Also...does anyone know when the new USNews rankings are going to come out?

I think you could definitely make an argument for Cornell>Mich, but I honestly think Penn is in a different tier. Penn rivals Cornell in NYC placement, and really beats them in clerkship/PI placement.msblaw89 wrote:^^ I think Cornell tops Michigan and Penn any day
Agreed, but both Penn and Cornell have an advantage over peers because of small class sizes too...I think you could definitely make an argument for Cornell>Mich, but I honestly think Penn is in a different tier. Penn rivals Cornell in NYC placement, and really beats them in clerkship/PI placement.
Not 100%, but I would go ahead and fill it out at least by March 15Chucky21 wrote:Do you need to complete the FAFSA before Cornell reviews you for merit scholarship?

Update on this: There will be diversity events during the April ASW and they will be sending out e-mail invites for student hosting some time next month if you are a minority. I think it's URM only but that also includes all Hispanics. I may be forced to go to the March one, but if you are a minority and have a choice you can save on hotel costs by doing the April one.Mr. Somebody wrote:So I was reading through the 2014 thread and I noticed some people were offered hosts by the diversity org for ASW. Has anyone heard about this or know if this program is still in place? I'm a minority and I haven't received an invite
1L here. It's all over the place, but I would say the median is somewhere between 630-900. Anywhere in collegetown is going to be 700+. The prices are kinda outrageous here because it's a captive market. If you do some legwork though you can get something nice that's not completely ridiculous. I'm paying around 600 next year for a very nice house. One of my friends is paying around 400 for what he said was a shithole. And one of my friends is paying 1100 for a studio right now. It really depends on how flexible you are with roommates, quality and location. Cornell will give you a housing packet at ASW that gives you nearby housing info which includes pricing. You can always do a quick craigslist search to give you an ideadannyde7 wrote:Does anyone know what rent is in Ithaca?
