My decision is likely going to come down to the last minute.

My decision will probably come last minute as well.
It doesn't specify a time, but the deposit has to be received by the 30th - so it can be sent on Monday.

Also...
If I do end up at Michigan, I have to take my dog with me or my mother has threatened to give him away (aka let him live full-time with my cousins who've wanted him since he was a puppy).

So, I'm looking to share a small house with a backyard, near the law school. Short drive or biking distance okay, parking included. In the actual city of A2. Must love (small, hyper and spoiled) mutts. Anyone have the house space and/or interested in living with and being about 10% responsible for the emotional happiness of a dog - PM me.

About the deposit? No, you don't get anything other than the e-mail telling you to set up your UMich E-mail also on the admitted students site it tells you that the deposit was received in either admissions communications or financial aid communications.

I got a letter from Dean Z, after I deposited. But it was clearly aimed at people who did not apply ED because it mentioned the possibility of depositing at multiple schools.

Oh yeah, I forgot about that letter. I also got that but it was like 2 weeks after I deposited.

Hey, if anyone is still looking for housing, I signed a lease on a 1 Bedroom at 511 E. Hoover, one of the school sponsored housing options. I got off the waitlist at Chicago and I'll make my decision sometime in the next few days. If I do go to Chicago, it'll be cheaper and easier to assign someone else the lease on the apartment.

I think the info on the lease and cost is at the PRIME Student Housing website. It's a little bit under 1K a month, 6 minute walk to the law school, utilities except gas included (I think). Pretty decent deal. PM me if you might be interested in taking it off my hands. I'll know by Friday what I'm going to do.

I'm pretty sure it's just that you can arrange to pay tuition in smaller chunks throughout the semester- probably for people who will be paying rather than taking out loans? I'm sure the finaid office would be glad to explain via phone/email, though.

Yup, that's what I took it to be too. They had something similar at my undergrad. In addition to my loans I was on a monthly plan to pay what was left.

Hey, for folks still looking for housing, I just signed a lease for a room in a 6 bedroom/2 bathroom house 2 blocks from the law school and most of the rooms are still available. There are 3 smallish rooms in the basement (but with windows in each room) for $750 each, and 2 rooms upstairs for $800 each. This includes all utilities and the place is really nicely furnished. Big kitchen with two fridges, lots of storage space, big tub in the upstairs bathroom, a ton of reserved parking in the back. If you're interested, PM me and I'll give you more details/pictures/the rental company's contact info. Most current students already have places (my plan A for housing didn't work out, so I'm definitely late) so you all are my shot at living with other law students! Plus, I can give you guys some good outlines and supplements (whic might not mean anything to you now, but you'll see)!

My apartment is still available, but I actually need to assign the lease today. I am offering a significant discount on the security deposit if someone wants to take it today. PM me for more details.

True 1 bedroom apartment, about a 7 minute walk to the law school. It's part of a modern apartment building, not a subdivided house. Brand new kitchen with dishwasher, parking space included, hardwood floors, central air, lots of closet space, as well as indoor storage for your bike in the apartment. Rent is $1150/month and the lease begins September 1 (although there is the option for early move-in). It's not part of the reserved 1L housing, but to be honest I saw them and wasn't all that impressed. I stayed an extra day at ASW to go apartment hunting, and this apartment was definitely the best I saw.

Hey everyone. Slightly new to the financial aid world. I'm working on accepting my award offers and was wondering if everyone that qualified for a fed. staff direct loan was offered an unsubsidized loan. Is that standard? I don't have much credit history. Is there any reason why this would prevent me from obtaining the loan?

Also, would it be fair to assume that grant amounts will more than likely continue to be awarded every year?

After much deliberation, I paid my seat deposit a couple days ago. I am really looking forward to coming to Ann Arbor this fall. I wanted to post because I just came back from watching The Five Year Engagement. It was hilarious, but we went just because most of it was filmed at Michigan! the law school even made a cameo. It was pretty great.

Where do we send our official transcripts to complete the enrollment process? Admissions office? Registrar?

Help!

And thank you.

So...I'm not arriving in Ann Arbor until one week before classes start. It's going to be such a crazy adjustment, trying to get settled in one week. All you summer starters who are already there, I'm so jealous of you!!! Anyone else moving at the last minute?

I need a roommate for August-August (but I think the house I'm subletting for the summer has rooms available beginning in May if you're interested.) Both of my potentials decided to go to Berkeley. :[ My place is 5 min. from the law school... The building is all grad students and rent is $550/mo. PM me if you're interested.

I plan on moving to Ann Arbor in early August. Does anyone know if there are many houses within walking distance (20 minutes or less) from the school? I'd like to rent a small house to avoid having a dog in an apartment building.
