Let's head downtown around noon. Our drinking game will be to take shots equivalent to the number our total debt after graduation will be divided by 25 (if ED) or 15 (if RD).
Well I for one would die, lol. I dont get where the division numbers come from?

Yes, the numbers need editing lol. How about if paying sticker = 210,000/10000 = 21 shots. If on scholarship divide by 7500.

Wow.....classy.....I'm glad I'm not gonna be at the ASW. This thread is reinforcing UVA's reputation as a bunch of douche bros.

Yeah that's pretty ridiculous! I want Berkeley being back to being the top public law school in the country and not having to share it with anyone. Berkeley is definitely way better than UVA. First of all when I went to tour that place it was SUPER depressing. Everyone kinda looked like they didn't want to be there at all, which is a huge contrast with Berkeley. Then on top of that it has horrible placement in the California market. I don't care how good you claim you are but if you can't place in the most populous state in the country you're not this super amazing national law school. I spoke to students who want to practice there and alums who currently practice in CA and they said it was EXTREMELY difficult trying to get there/getting there. Berkeley, however, has pretty good placement on the East Coast. It's pretty much common knowledge (and I know a couple alums/current students at Boalt) that if you really want to go back to the East Coast from there you can.
I guess we lost 1 douchebag when he/she decided not to come here. Hoorraayyyy!!!! Back to popping collars and champagne bottles.

Paramus! I've done the drive about twice, once to visit for fun and once to check out a condo so Its doable for around 4.5 hours if you drive at a faster pace than traffic lol

So I emailed Dean Richard almost 2 weeks ago negotiating for more aid and have yet to hear back. Is it typical to get silence for this long after emailing her?

Btw, I should mention I emailed her at arichard@virginia.edu in case that has any bearing on the response. Not asking because I'm antsy so much as I want to make sure I didn't send it to the wrong place or whatnot.

Did the same, still haven't heard yet. (Spent a long time trying to phrase, "My undergrad offered me a ride, please give meh things!!!!" In a nice way) There was an email sent out with my financial aid saying they would award additional scholarships in April.

I called her office phone and spoke to her directly about aid. She said she the committee would review my file and sure enough my scholly package changed within 5 business days. She is nice, understanding, and easy to speak with on the phone.

You're both wrong.

Drinking in moderation is a fun and good way to get to know ur future classmates.

Drinking in excess is lame, leads to obesity, too much money and never leads to anything good.

Yea that was exactly my point. Go read the posts. People were "joking" about showing up drunk and having out of control drinking games. A) That's just trashy, we're all going to be in law school now, not the college frat house and B) The Huguely trial proved that maybe a lot of people at UVA should tone down their crazy drinking binges. I like to drink too but I wouldn't freakin' show up at my ASW where some of my future professors might be....DRUNK, or even kid about it....

A) Professors are, in fact, people who like to have fun too.
B) I'm glad my future classmates aren't the type who spend their St. Patrick's Day on the computer trashing other law school students with stereotypes. If all they do in Cali is think about UVA, I'm that much happier with my decision.

C) Your line of argumentation means that I could claim all Cal students live in trees

Instead of trying to make this an argument between who is "cool" and who is a "loser," why don't you just sit and ponder for 2 seconds whether showing up drunk and super hung over at ASW is something proper? No one ever said that drinking is bad or having fun is bad or that professors never drink. I just think that joking about showing up drunk at ASW is pretty ridiculous. I'm pretty sure that a lot of other people would agree. Just go look at all the other T-14 forums, is there any other one where people are like, "Haha!!! Omg brah I'm sooo cool cuz I'm gonna get DRUNK AT ASW!!!!! WOOOO HOOOOOOO!!!!!!" I've been drunk tons of times but would I do it during my law school's ASW? No.

Oh and I hate to break it to you but California is 3 hours behind the East Coast. I'm sorry I wasn't shitfaced at 1 PM. I went out that night but only losers start that late, right? I should have set my alarm at 8 AM and started chugging Guinness that moment!
