Congrats to you guys. Quick question: does your Dean Certification Form need to be sent in for your application to be considered "complete"? Or do I just check off "I am going to send in the Dean's Cert Form when required or needed or by matriculation"? Forgive me if the language is different, I'm at work and working off the memory of my friend's application.

Can anyone tell me if there is anything really important in the welcome package? I am living overseas so it will probably take months to get here...if it makes it.

Big dogs? Good luck, start looking early so you can find something with a yard.KJG wrote:excited to be joining all of you. terrified about getting housing for a family of three with three dogs and two cats.

Not much - an acceptance letter, a Charlottesville handbook, a viewbook of the law school, and a few print outs of their clinics and specializations. And scholarship info as well, apparently (although I of course received none with ED ).Demeter wrote:Can anyone tell me if there is anything really important in the welcome package? Hi all........long time reader, first time poster. I applied last year and deferred UVa a year. I'm so excited to be joining all of you in Charlottesville next August! Who else is watching the UVa v. FSU game tonight? My undergrad school is terrible at football, so I'm excited that UVa can actually go somewhere!
PlanQ: I got the same email last week about application status. I went online and viewed my status, which reminded me of the terms of my deferral and that they were excited to have me on campus next year. I guess it's official!

Was actually at the UT game, but saw the score updates. Pretty stoked for a big win!
Im the opposite though, I think the games will be a large step down in excitement and tradition haha, still super pumped. As long as the tailgates are still awesome beforehand Im good :p

I think I just found my housing. a 2br duplex with a fenced yard for 850 with utilities included(even gas) except electricity. and they are cool with dogs so I will take two, rehome one and stash the cats at the mother in laws. even has a bonus room. keeping my fingers crossed that it works out.

I think Charlottesville will definintely be a step down for you coming from Austin (or Knoxville) in terms of football tradition. Still, it's nice to be going to a school that's in a good football conference with a competitive team and college town feel. How many other T-14 schools have that? Michigan? Cal? Stanford? Big draw for me to come to UVa.AssumptionRequired wrote:Was actually at the UT game, but saw the score updates. Pretty stoked for a big win!

We're also good at baseball, soccer, lacrosse, tennis if you're into non-revenue sports and all the games are free. Also, the basketball arena is awesome.CobraCO wrote:I think Charlottesville will definintely be a step down for you coming from Austin (or Knoxville) in terms of football tradition. Have you encountered any squash players? Are there any squash courts that you know of at the rec center?

Anyone looking for a roommate for the Jeffersonian?
I am a dashing man in his 20s....pretty clean, considerate, laid back, don't mind noise but am not noisy.
I'd also love a running partner-someone to get those endorphines with and make sure we don't lose our abs during 1L.
