I just finished my first semester at a top 30 school and am not too thrilled with my GPA (not terrible but could be better), so do you guys think doing LEEWS at this point is worth it? Most of the advice out there is to take it BEFORE 1L year, but how about in the MIDDLE of 1L year before spring semester? It's pretty pricy so I don't want to waste my money. Thanks!

Don't waste your time and money on LEEWS. You can discuss your exam answers with your profs, and that feedback will help you more than anything else. FWIW, it helps if you can figure out the root cause of why you lost points on the exams (e.g. didn't spot enough issues, ran out time, searching through outline slowed you down, not enough arguments for both sides of issue, etc.) I've been successful when I write most of my exam answer using only a very high level outline and my memory. If you have time left over, you can always refine your answer with more detailed information from your longer outline.

If you want to use external resources, read Getting to Maybe and Eight Secrets of Top Exam Performance in Law School. You can pick them up on Amazon for a couple bucks each. The second book can be read very quickly.
