Anyone else have their first memo due this weekend? Shoot me in the face...

Mine was due on Thursday and I actually enjoyed writing it. That doesn't account for how I did, however. Apparently, my LAWR professor is a beast when it comes to grading. So that should be fun.

For you 2 and 3Ls out there, how heavily marked up was your first memo? Should we brace ourselves?

Mine is due on Tuesday, which explains why I am in the library on a Saturday. Dammit.

Ours are graded, though not factored into GPA.

My first one is due Thursday. So far I've mostly been annoyed by the anal retentive tendencies of the exercises preceding the actual memo. For instance, being scolded for writing a rough draft instead of an outline for one of the sections of the memo.

Ours is due on Friday and is definitely graded, but our rough draft was due to our TAs today.

I like memos and my teacher, but I hear that he's so good at making you a concise writer that it's harder to get on law review or moot court because they are looking for more "flowery" language style.

Our first one is due Wednesday.

Legal practice isn't graded for us at Michigan. Some number of people can get 'honors' though.

Where are you at law school again lishi?

Wake Forest. I definitely wish our class was just pass/fail. I don't mind the work that has to go in it as much as worry about the grade I'll get.

For those of you that are graded, are the grades curved? That's really the part I'm freaking out about.

Yeah mine is curved and that's why I'm freaking out too. It's the fact that mine can be great and still suck all at the same time lol

our first draft was due tuesday, and we have another draft due tuesday after this one coming.

Our grades are curved, but for the entire 1L class, not just our section of Rhetoric.

all the 2L and 3Ls say that I got the best prof, and I'm starting to believe it. No anal-retentive tendencies, he's a harda** grader, but he's the best at our school.
