I've actually been trying to build a perfect one of these since I was about 10. Total nerd, I know. Are these strong enough to hold casebooks without falling over every time you try to turn the page?

I bought mine at the university bookstore, which is a Barnes and Noble, so perhaps every Barnes and Noble sells them.

I don't know what they're called, so I had to describe the thing clumsily to the seller. They had two types: one transparent plastic and big, I think intended for cookbooks, the other foldable from metal wire. I have the latter ($5) and it's strong and adjustable enough to be used with any casebook. (And my ConLaw casebook this semester must have been the biggest casebook in existence.) And because it's foldable, it takes up no space in a backpack. As I said: best investment of $5 this year.

Although, I'm not sure this is true for those of us going to more rural areas for school...then again, I assume the school would have covered. I guess this actually does warrant further research!
