Taking vacation in early December during stub year

Post by motoman92 » Mon Aug 20, 2018 11:52 am

During my bar trip, I ended up winning a free cruise from Dec. 10 - 15th, 2018. I'm starting at a V5 in September, and I'd like to go on the cruise but I'm not sure how it would look taking off an entire week after just starting / if I'll even have the vacation time. What's the proper etiquette on this?

You probably accrue a week per quarter so you probably have the time. This is a totally acceptable time to take vacation and you should not feel bad asking for it. Clear it with staffing early (like during training) to avoid having to ask for it off from an actual deal team. When you do get staffed, mention to deal team that you’d asked for that time off. People will work around it — you’re totally fungible at that stage and there’s going to be dozens of other associates they can plug in.
