Should I finish this Article and use it as a writing sample

I was working on a law article for a scholarship but because of personal reasons I did not finish it in time. Would it be wise to continue writing it and using it as a writing sample? I am a rising 2L so I do not have many good writing samples hoping to do transactional work.

Use your legal writing memo/brief, or something from your 1L summer job. I don't think it's a good idea (or a good use of time) to use something you didn't write for a work/school context.
If you're pursuing publishing anyway and working with a professor on it, then it might make more sense to use it. Otherwise just stick to what you have.
