Conflict of Laws: Should I take it?

Postby legaleagle1234 » Fri Jan 20, 2017 12:06 pm

3L at T30. Biglaw litigation job lined up after graduation. Enrolled in ALR, Fed Courts, Sec Regs this semester. Conflicts would be extra credits, unnecessary to graduate. Used up my p/f credits.

I see no reason to take it unless you want to. I learned conflict of laws for the bar in 1 day and everything I thought was important fit on a half page outline

I don't really see the point of taking it in that situation.

Not if you're taking fed courts.

If your intent is to take the Uniform Bar Exam, then it might be worth your time to take it. It's just very difficult to have to learn a subject for the bar exam rather than merely review a subject that you've already learned. In an ideal world we wouldn't have to choose which subjects to take in law school based upon whether they are on the bar exam, but I do know from experience working with students that it's very beneficial to have taken the tested subjects.
