You seem kinda dumb and arrogant.

Some people will have connections. Get better credentials so that nepotism doesn't matter.

Nothing more you can do.

My roommate is a complete idiot, went to a shitty law school cuz he had a guaranteed job working for his rich uncle at his law firm
Some people just got it easier, it might not be fair but it's reality. Just do you

ellewoods123 wrote:Long story short last week I contacted an alum of my law school who is a superior court judge in my home state (where I am hoping to get a trial court clerkship). He was happy to meet and to my surprise when I got there I was given a research test on the spot as if it was a job interview. I aced it, and the judge and his clerk praised me for being the only person out of the 20 plus students he has interviewed to do so well, and that they wished I was graduating this year. Naturally I said "well please remember that for next year".

To my disappointment the judge informed me that he had sort of already given his word to a family friend that he would hire his son to clerk for him next year "but if anything falls through, I'd hire you in a heartbeat".
My favorite thing about this story is that the judge spontaneously gave you a "research test" even though you weren't interviewing with him and even though he had already filled his clerkship position. That's some 180 trolling by the judge.
